(More customer reviews)As with many of these shows, the first season started out pretty well. Frankly, they are exhausting potential topics for the format. The format, by the way, is about 40 minutes of suspense and less than 10 minutes of no answers. To make things worse, The History Channel/A&E are releasing only one half of a season this time ("Season 3, Volume 1"). They apparently have noted CBS/Paramount's marketing practice of DVD releasing. Half season sets cost the buyer more in the long run and generate more revenues. Watch these shows on TV and save your money. You probably won't watch them repeatedly anyway.

Discover the truth behind the world s most persistent and compelling monster stories, from MegaJaws to the Swamp Beast of Boggy Creek, the Lake Demon to the Abominable Snowman. Using the latest technology to search for legendary creatures, MonsterQuest attempts to get to the bottom of these mysterious sightings in another fascinating season. Throughout history there have been countless sightings of mysterious creatures, from Megladon, the father of the great white shark; to gators in the sewer, a result of the rising gator populations clashing with human encroachment; to the Snow Beast of the Colorado Rockies that is thought to be hunting the elk population while fleeing man. Most of what we know of these creatures comes from campfire stories, blurry films and grainy photographs. In Season three, MonsterQuest brings science and technology to bear on these creatures of legend and seeks new, reliable evidence of their existence. Open-eyed historical research and hardcore analysis set the stage for groundbreaking field work: high-tech expeditions to the terrain these famous monsters are said to inhabit. Deploying state-of-the-art equipment, each episode scientifically examines the best evidence available, from pictures and video, to hair and bones, to actual eyewitness accounts. From pilots to policemen to ship captains, a number of seemingly credible people have seen things they can t explain. One part history, one part science and one part monsters, MonsterQuest discovers the truth in these sightings, and the legendary creatures behind them.
