(More customer reviews)For years I have been making do with various collections of episodes, with only a poor instrumental theme bearing little resemblance to the original theme song. Now at last this wonderful show is being released in full season sets with the original opening and closing theme songs. Some reviewers have applauded the presence of the original sponsor messages on these discs. Personally, I don't like them, but the great thing is that you have the choice of playing the episodes with or without the advertising. Some of the difference may be that as Americans, the other reviewers remember the shows that way, with some nostalgia. For me, living in a country where cigarette advertising on television has never been legal, my fond memories are of the version without the ads.
This is a great set of my favourite season of a fantastic show, complete with all the original music , photo gallery and an excellent special feature, "The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies". Every episode is packed with laughs; the Hillbillies are still as funny and as wonderful as I remember them from my childhood.

Kevin James - Sweat the Small Stuff (2001) Review

Kevin James - Sweat the Small Stuff has to be the funniest stand-up that I have seen in all my years, and it's not just funny when you watch it either! When you get excited about having exact change at the drive through, or when you see your food coming at a restaurant you'll know why!You just can't go wrong with this DVD, you will watch it over and over and over again and still laugh till you drop. Then you'll go to the airport and laugh even more when you see some of the things in real life! I Highly recommend this DVD to anyone who likes to laugh, you don't have to be a Kevin James fan to enjoy his stand up comedy. You'll end up buying this for your friends, family (97% family friendly), and neighbors and they will love you for it!
The bonus material has some appearances of Mr. James on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, which are pretty fun too. Kevin is like the fun brother inlaw that gives you a reason to attend those dreaded family functions.
Kevin James rated number 89 on Comedy Centrals 100 funniest stand up comedians, IMHO he's WAY funnier than that, he should have ranked in the low teens!
When I'm mad and someone asks for a phone number, I use BAD phone number rhythm, just to annoy them and it makes me feel better. Thanks Kevin!

Brian Regan: The Epitome of Hyperbole Review

(More customer reviews)Just finished this DVD and we all enjoyed it very much. I still rank his first "I walked on the moon" as the best...and probably his second "standing up" slightly over this as it does have a 30 minute special as a bonus feature as well as encores. The Epitome Of Hyperbole is not a bad third place but at a scant 42 minutes seems to end waaaay too early. The bonus encore is also very brief (about 4 minutes) and the making of is fun but not really something you want to watch again and again. So...most of my complaining is that I want more of this guy....he's just that good, original and works clean (which I don't demand but he is different by that mere fact).
Brian's expressions and physical humor is almost as funny as his stories and bits..which I don't want to give away...but lets just say that if you own the other two DVDs ....there isn't overlap of bits...so ...bottom line..you really need ALL THREE! his first one is available on his site...is an hour of gut busting stories from the classic "Say 8" to the title track.
I've seen him in concert and we just got tickets to see him in October...he is worth it live or on DVD...and his reputation and drawing power is completely due to word of mouth and talent....NOT the hype of NON funny "celebs" like Dane Cook....
Highly Recommended....!!!

Tim Hawkins: INSANITIZED Review

(More customer reviews)I first saw Tim Hawkins on Bananas Comedy, and I loved his style of clean comedy and funny songs. I don't think I ever saw his second Bananas appearance, but I did see his DVDs (Full Range of Motion, and I'm No Rockstar.) Funny mix of songs and clean Christian comedy. I saw a few clips here and there for this show Insanitized and I laughed hysterically. I watched the DVD and I laughed even more! Again, nice mix of funny songs and some very funny stand-up!
By the way, there's a tiny bit of overlap between DVDs, but here it's pretty much new stuff which is awesome for someone like Tim Hawkins. Keep bringing the funny, but in entirely new ways. A few bits that stand out (this is referencing the Chapter Menu foldout within the DVD: The Government Can (funny but too true song), 3rd Wheel (start-out song on this DVD), Unwashed masses, Bad candy (yep, we've all had bad candy come Halloween time), and a few more tracks later in the show that talks about his kids. A hysterically funny bit is when he talks about stuff being in the Bible, and when he talks about the Precious Moments Bible not illustrating specific moments.
There's a song he does called I'm a Christian. It's a serious song, and it kind of threw me off (not because it was a bad song or anything, I just wasn't expecting it), but it was a lovely, nice song. Then he closes it out with a song called Twinkie. It's a reference to a bit about churches and sermons.
All in all, this was an awesome hour and thirteen minutes of clean Christian comedy. Very recommended for fans of Tim Hawkins, and/or clean comedy.
