(More customer reviews)As a huge fan of Beverly Hills, 90210, I have been waiting for season 2 since the day after season 1 was released. Overall this is a good season, although not as good as season 1 or season 3. The show tried to remain true to its roots by tackling tough issues, and although this act is pulled off well, it leaves the viewer feeling like every typical high school cliché is touched upon.
The biggest disappointments for me in this season were in the following areas:
- At times the transfer to DVD appears incredibly grainy and in poor quality.
- On the DVD cases for discs 6 and 7, the episode overviews are not consistent with the actual plots for each episode. I have written them correctly in the list below.
- The soundtrack: This issue makes the show a lot worse off. Music by Seal, R.E.M., Monie Love, Garth Brooks, Chris Isaak, Roxette, Robert Palmer, Janis Joplin, The Bangles, Color Me Badd, The Pretenders, and many other artists has all been replaced by forgetfully bland generic studio tracks. I realize that it's not always possible for all of the original music rights to be obtained for a series, but the omission of every noteworthy song affects the overall quality and experience of the show. The two episodes where this is most evident is in 'Chuckie's Back', when Steve pulls away from the gang on a bus, the song '2000 Miles' from The Pretenders is played, resulting in a heart-tugging ending. The episode of 'The Next Fifty Years' starts out with 'Friends In Low Places' by Garth Brooks and hypes up to 'Work It Out' by Monie Love as the gang teaches Scott how to dance. Those songs all appeared on the original series but were replaced on the DVD version with no-name songs that will surely leave hardcore fans frustrated. To anyone who thinks that music isn't such a big deal, think of Tarantino movies like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill - without their incredible soundtracks they wouldn't have been nearly as good or memorable. Had the original music for the show remained intact, I'd rate this season a solid 4.5 stars. Instead, I give it a 3.5 out of 5.The episodes are as follows:
DISC 1:
1) Beach Blanket Brandon: Brenda has a pregnancy scare which causes her to re-think her serious relationship with Dylan. Brandon leaves the Peach Pit and gets a job at the Beverly Hills Beach Club.
2) The Party Fish: Brandon's job at the Beach Club leads him to becoming friends with a sports promoter, who wants to make Brandon his gopher boy. Brandon cuts off the relationship when the friendship becomes to complicated.
3) Summer Storm: Dylan is injured while surfing and the Walshes invite him to stay at their home while he recovers from the accident. Jim catches Brenda and Dylan making out and wants him to leave. Kelly falls for a new guy, but is confused by his mixed signals.
4) Anaconda: Dylan and Brandon argue after a late night poker game at the Beach Club ends with a break-in. Dylan is the prime suspect, as it turns out he's been pawning family items to keep afloat.
DISC 2:
5) Play It Again, David: Kelly has a hissy fit when her mother starts dating David's dad. Brandon begins mentoring a boy and learns that there may be more to him than meets the eye.
6) Pass, Not Pass: Andrea and Brenda both have a crush on their drama teacher. Brandon buys his dream car, only to find out he bought a lemon.
7) Camping Trip: The kids take off on a trip to Yosemite and end up with cabin fever as they are stuck inside during a torrential downpour. The honeymooning couple in the cabin next door are already fighting. Dylan saves Brandon's life as Brandon almost falls off a cliff.
8) Wildfire: New student Emily Valentine has the girls in an uproar and the boys in a frenzy.
DISC 3:
9) Ashes to Ashes: An African American family moves in down the street from the Walshes, resulting in a racially motivated attack.
10) Necessity Is a Mother: Dylan's bohemian mother Iris comes back from Hawaii and moves in with him. Dylan resents her parenting, after an 11 year absence from his life.
11) Leading From the Heart: Brandon and Brenda's wheelchair-bound cousin comes to visit. Kelly is interested in him, but Brenda worries that Kelly will end up hurting him. Brandon feels guilty and apologizes to his cousin about the accident that crippled him.
12) Down and Out of District in Beverly Hills: Andrea faces an investigation by the school district due to her living situation. Steve's new girlfriend only likes him for his money and connections.
DISC 4:
13) Halloween: The kids attend a holiday party, and Kelly's skimpy outfit sends the wrong signal to a college boy who tries to rape her. David and Scott spend the night waiting for an egg fight that never occurs. Brandon stays home to hand out candy and meets up with Emily Valentine.
14) The Next 50 Years: David struggles with the growing gap between himself and Scott. Scott's mom throws him a surprise Birthday party and David feels pressured to find "friends" to attend the party. Scott plays with one of his father's guns and accidentally shoots himself at the party. Scott's death causes a wave of interest across the school, and the students' interest in him causes David to angrily confront Brandon (who is writing a story about him for the school paper). The confrontation is accidentally broadcast over the radio to the entire school.
15) U4EA: Emily Valentine invites the gang to an underground club. Andrea and Steve spend the entire evening trying to find them. Donna enjoys the evening with David. While at the club, Emily slips a little something into Brandon's drink. Brandon feels he can no longer trust Emily, and breaks things off with her.
16) My Desperate Valentine: The recently dumped Emily refuses to accept that things are over between her and Brandon. The episode culminates in an emotional breakdown when Emily tries to set fire to the homecoming float that the kids made.
DISC 5:
17) Chuckie's Back: Steve's childhood nemesis, Chuck Wilson starts attending West Beverly High, and immediately starts pushing his buttons (just like old times). Chuck taunts Steve about the fact that he is adopted. Donna admits her true feelings for David and kisses him on the dance floor in front of the entire school. Steve leaves on a bus to New Mexico to find his birth parents.
18) A Walsh Family Christmas: The Walsh house will be empty this year, with Brandon and Brenda and all their friends making alternate plans. Steve searches for his birthmom in Albuquerque. Despite their original plans to the contrary, everyone ends up at the Walsh home for Christmas.
19) Fire and Ice: Brandon meets an up and coming figure skater but is rebuffed by her coach.
DISC 6:
20) A Competitive Edge: Brandon joins the track team and receives negative attention from his teammates for some of the articles he wrote as Sports Editor. Meanwhile, Steve is asked to join "The Program", which causes him to suffer from moodswings. Brenda is involved in a minor fender-bender which turns into a big fiasco when the other driver suddenly claims to have major injuries.
21) Everybody's Talkin' `Bout It: Opposing sides argue over a campaign to raise awareness about AIDS and STDs. The episode ends with Kelly's mom telling her that she is pregnant.
22) Baby Makes Five: Kelly tells her friends that Jackie is pregnant. Mel asks Jackie to marry him. Nat, Brandon, Steve, and Andrea spend some time at the racetrack.
DISC 7:
23) Cardio Funk: Brenda and Dylan's relationship is strained due to his friendship with someone from AA. The new karaoke machine at the Peach Pit brings out the whole gang for some off-key fun.
24) The Pit and The Pendulum: Brandon learns that Jim's latest work endeavor would mean the demolition of the Peach Pit.
25) Meeting Mr. Pony: In anticipation of finals, the kids pull a late night of studying at the Peach Pit, and when Brandon and Dylan go out back, a man enters the restaurant and demands the cash from the register while pointing a gun at Brenda. Brenda must cope with the emotional aftermath of the incident and pretends that she is okay while inside she's filled with fear and panic.
DISC 8:
26) Things To Do On A Rainy Day: The kids hang out at the Bel Age Hotel, hoping to meet Color Me Badd. While at the hotel, Donna witnesses her mother in a compromising situation.
27) Mexican Standoff: Brenda lies to her parents and spends the weekend with Dylan in Mexico, only to get stuck on the other side of the border. Meanwhile, back in LA, Kelly starts up with newcomer Jake Hanson, who was hired to build a canopy for Kelly's mother's wedding ceremony.
28) Wedding Bell Blues: The season wraps up with multiple simultaneous dramas: Brenda's father goes to collect her from the Mexican border, meanwhile Dylan is banned from seeing Brenda. Due to plumbing problems, Jackie's wedding venue is quickly changed to the Walsh home, and Jake shows up at the wedding and tells Kelly how he feels about her.

(More customer reviews)I once sold the entire first season on VHS on ebay when I was 13. The quality was better, my tapes had the original music, and werent missing any scenes. If that knowledge doesn't bother you then run out and buy these dvds. If you really want to collect the show...start setting your tivos on FX.
another question...what is going to happen in season 3. I flat out will not watch brenda crying over dylan without losing my religion. i will not watch ditch day without color me badd or the finale without blood is thicker than water. they seriously need to do something about this because at some point (if i admit that it doesn't matter now) the music is really going to make a huge difference.

Beverly Hills 90210: Seventh Season Review

(More customer reviews)The drama continues in Beverly Hills 90210: The Seventh Season as everyone's favorite drama crew begins their senior year of college at California University. The dramatic characters of 90210 return for another season of soap opera-quality teen drama: Val Malone (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen), Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestly), Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering), Donna Martin (Tori Spelling), David Silver (Brian Austin Green), Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), and Clare Arnold (Kathleen Robertson).
Season seven picks up during the summer just before the beginning of senior year at C.U. Brandon and Steve are in the middle of a cross-country drive before returning to Beverly Hills for the school year. Once school begins, Brandon engrosses himself in the campus television station (as well as a new, Kelly-free relationship) while Steve fights to stay in school and land a job... all while still keeping Clare and her father, the C.U. chancellor, happy with him.
Meanwhile, Val struggles with financial trouble at her club, After Dark. She decides to seek out help from a family friend, but things get out of hand when when an unexpected pregnancy creates friction between Val and the other 90210-ers.
Clare continues to struggle in her relationship with Steve while trying to balance her goals and issues with adjusting to new challenges. Even though Clare is known for keeping Steve in a relationship the longest in the show's history, there is constant trouble between the two as Steve falls back into his carefree ways.
Donna and David's tempestuous relationship continues throughout the season, ranging from perfectly calm to breakup. Both characters try to encourage their friends and one another to finish up college, but things become difficult when David decides to drop out of college and suffers serious mental problems while Donna's former attacker and near-rapist begins stalking her again.
Kelly revisits her past with Brandon and struggles with lingering feelings that collide with other characters. She also attempts to become friends with her long-time nemesis, Val, but the two girls seem to be more prone to fighting than being friends.
Season seven ends with a highly satisfying college graduation for all of the cast members, but it leaves the audience wondering: what's going to happen next? How can we possibly keep following all these characters as they grow up, get jobs, and move on with their careers? Even though the series still feels like it has some life left in it, the two-part graduation special made the story seemed a little final.
But by the far the best part of this DVD set is being able to experience all of your favorite Beverly Hills 90210 drama in the privacy of your own home (complete with tissue box) in a complete and newly restored, remastered version that looks unlike any other version of the series out there. While non-fans may have a little trouble getting into the constantly intense drama of the series, long-time fans will be delighted with the quality and completeness of this 7-disc collectible DVD set.

Beverly Hills 90210 - The Sixth Season Review

(More customer reviews)Who would think that Kelly Taylor would become an addict? On this very intense season, we're introduced to Colin , who brings coke to her life. Also we have that annoying Susan, who dates Brandon and ultimately breaks his heart and Dylan getting married to Toni (while furious and revengeful on Marchette), and later leaving the famous zip code (but not for good, he returns some seasons later). We have that hateful Kelly-stalker Tara, the charming prince Carl (who hits on Clare), special appearances of Cindy Walsh and Andrea Zuckerman, a very sutle reference to Brenda on Scotland (at the end of the season), Ray Pruitt hurting Donna, Valerie's hateful and blackmailing friend, Ginger, David's mom trying to kill herself, and we almost lose Casa Walsh for good! (the show wouldn't be the same without that house!!)
This season is extraordinary; the whole series is superb. But the DVDs...I know, I know, everybody already complained about the music changes and the missing scenes (the ones with pop references, especially) But it's a shame that fans worldwide (and I'm writing this from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the show was called "Barrados no Baile" and was also a huge phenomenon) can't have on their shelves the complete and uncut seasons of such a great show. The same thing happened to "Fastlane", Will & Grace" and (in a small way) to "Charmed", among others. Some fans expected that the "complete series pack" of "Fastlane" or "Will & Grace" (to be released soon) would present the uncut episodes with ALL the original music; and I know that some fans also expect the same thing when all ten seasons of Beverly Hills 90210 are finally released, but I think it is most unlikely something like this will happen, that the studio will fix something on this matter.
Anyway, we, fans, HAVE to buy the seasons just this way, and we have to be happy and thankful that, at least, the Beverly Hills 90210 gang is on DVD.....What can we do NOW about it? In fact, what could we do in the first place?

(More customer reviews)Ok, I don't want to be negative about this show...or a traitor to my generation... I love Bev Hills 90210! I was a sophmore in high school when they were, at the shows start, and we were the same age and we grew up together. I watched (and taped) every episode for the whole 10 years... but those VHS tapes wear out, so imagine my joy when the DVD set came out... or not...
As I said, I have taped every episode, and I watch it now on Soapnet... and as you know like watching your favorite movie over and over, you can "talk along with the movie"... well I am that way with this show. I now know (but didn't until after having bought the first 2 seasons) that the box says in fine print on the back of the box that "MUSIC HAS BEEN CHANGED FOR THIS HOME ENTERTAINMENT VERSION. SOME EPISODES MAY BE EDITED FROM THEIR ORIGINAL NETWORK VERSIONS.", but come on!!! I noticed a wierd edit in another season episode and a spot here and there, not to mention in season one when all the girls have a slumber party and are signing along to "Mony Mony" but now the music is different... but The Senior Prom episode was seriously butchered! There were major parts gone... not to mention Cathy Dennis sang 2 songs at the prom and they cut the whole second song out, along with shots of her and most of the actors lines that were said during that song. I am very disappointed in this. The prom episode was a great one, not to mention a pivital part of the season. Part of the greatness of 90210 was the fact that they used new, up to date music for every episode.
Come on FOX... how cheap are you? We are all paying $40 or more for a set that probably costs $5 to make... You couldn't shell out some cash to keep this amazingly cool show intact in it's original condition??? And what are you going to do in future seasons??? There were tons of episodes later on in the Peach Pit After Dark where a famous music group plays there... are those hour long episodes going to be edited down to a half hour show?
So, before you start sending me hate email, let me say this:
My review comes to this = Yes, I love the show and Yes, I have and probably will buy every season on DVD. But Yes, I am disappointed in the editing. So to all of you die hard fans like me... be aware of this before you buy and watch it, so you aren't completly disappointed like I was when I first bought and watched them. Maybe they will get this figured out and stop their "editing" or "ruining" our favorite show!!!

Little House on the Prairie - Special Edition Movie Boxed Set (Look Back to Yesterday / Bless All the Dear Children / The Last Farewell) (1983) Review

Why would I call this the "Best series in the history of television"? ...because it's BIG in heart and soul, the characters and stories have TREMENDOUS depth, and it's not bogged down by the politics of your typical western, or typical show for that matter. The storylines could go anywhere, and focus on anyone, or anything. There didn't have to be a villain of the week, a murder, etc. Come to think of it, this is one of the most "murder-less" westerns I have ever seen. If people died, it was more from life's hardships in the 1800's than from anything else. It may not have ended anywhere near as well as it came in, but when you look back at the series on a whole, I would still rank this as being the best of all TV series, and for a number of reasons.
The appeal of this series is much broader than most people give it credit for. The show wasn't just for little girls, as anyone looking at the cover of one of the Little House books might conclude. It was more a show about how to deal with the unexpected, with changes in life, and how to get along with your neighbors. There are life lessons to be learned here for everyone, from little girls to old men.
I doubt that we will ever again see a show quite like this, which so graciously teaches the lost values that we need in times like these. Network TV has become a desolate wasteland of high-tech crime scene dramas, court case TV, reality TV, infomercials, talk shows, extreme sports, and news programs. You will be hard-pressed to find much of a heart or soul in any of them, mainly just a lot of computer "gee-whiz" wizardry, and for the most part a waste of time in general. Meanwhile, Little House delivers both heart AND soul, so much so in the subtle ways that it influences you, that you can't help but walk away a better person afterwards.
Even if they did bring a show like this back (and they`ve tried), it would be EXTREMELY difficult to match the production values you will find here without a sky-high budget. Not to mention, many of the best character actors once employed by Hollywood, (many of whom appeared on Little House), are now long since dead.
SPOILERS FOLLOW... About this particular set... After Season 9 ended, a deal was inked to conclude the "Little House on the Prairie" series with the final three tele-movies contained here, the UNOFFICIAL "Season 10", which wraps up the series in a very peculiar and jaw-dropping way, literally going out with a BANG!!
Whether or not anyone likes the idea of the town being blown to smithereens in the end, or with the direction the series took in it's later years, Michael Landon and crew continued to crank-out very touching, emotionally-charged episodes to the bitter end. Casting, acting, directing, writing, set design, and the beautiful, harmonious music composed by the late David Rose all remained high-quality throughout the series. I can't say enough about the fine acting and music though, as well as the town layout - all First Class! Well... There were a few less than stellar casting decisions near the end of the run, but nothing worth spoiling the series over.
The final three films are somewhat of a mixed bag, and leave you with mixed emotions. I probably would have wrote them a bit differently if it were up to me, but they are still VERY MUCH worth the price of admission. The saddest, and my choice as the best of the three would be the first one, "Look Back To Yesterday", which will likely produce a few tears (video and sound quality is very good to excellent). As for "Bless All The Dear Children", the story is somewhat uneven and seems to drag in the middle, however the ending is quite good, and redeems any flaws. In all honesty though, I can't figure out why on earth they felt the need to tell this particular story as one of the last three of all time (video quality is good to very good). "The Last Farewell"... What can I say?... Does anybody really want to see the town get blown-up?? Michael Landon has always told stories about overcoming great adversity, and carrying on, but I feel that he took things a little too far here, maybe for no other reason than simply because he could. Not the best note for the series to go out on, but a very dramatic exit nonetheless, and once again it may bring you to tears. The video quality on this one, which I would have expected to be great, being the final installment, was actually the WORST of the three. The print that Imavision used for the transfer was surprisingly not the greatest. It was fairly dark, and the colors were faded. A real disappointment, as I expected something better for what I paid. Concerning the extras, the interviews of the two Melissa's were quite well done. I was hoping for more extras though.
A few odds & ends and closing comments... If I had any say with the powers that be, I would NOT have destroyed the exterior town setting at the Big Sky Movie Ranch (a big chunk of the ranch was recently sold to developers), and rather would have tried to preserve it as a museum/tour/theme park/resort, for all to enjoy in the years that followed. Not a chance of that happening now of course, after the final episode, plus the land around the shooting location is being developed like mad. Very poor decisions in the end by those responsible.
I would also like to add that while MANY of the episodes from Season box sets 1 through 3 were drop-dead GORGEOUSLY restored, I would like to see some kind of effort put into restoring the remainder of the series, which was very much a disappointing (to say the least!) "hit and miss" restoration effort, even if I have to pay for them all over again for the improved versions in another release of some kind. The series was THAT GOOD!!
Question: Why has there never been a music CD compilation of David Rose's best work from this series? They can put out a 4-disc collection of the original one-season Battlestar Galactica, but nothing for David Rose's Little House work?? ...someone who is considered to be the best in the business??
R.I.P., Little House, and thanks to all involved for putting on such a fine show. You have created a masterpiece that will be enjoyed for generations to come. Now if only Imavision or somebody else would restore the episodes that so desperately need it from the original 35mm prints, like they did with several of the early episodes, then we would really have something special.

Look Back at Yesterday (Dec 1983) Charles Ingalls returns to Walnut Grove. During his stay, he learnsthat Albert, a doctor in training, has contracted a blood disease that is nearly always fatal. Also,an economic recession that threatens to destroy the community.

Bless All the Dear Children (Dec 1984) Rose, Laura and Almanzo's infant daughter, is kidnapped during Christmas. The family discovers that she was stolen by a woman who was longing to have a child of her own.

The Last Farewell (Feb 1984) This final adventure finds Walnut Grove being purchased by an evil miner. Rather than being thrown off their land, the townsfolk exact a more spectacular method of leaving their beloved town.

With Brenda gone, having decided to stay in England, we meet Valerie who is a friend of the Walsh's from Buffalo and turns out to be a backstabbing and manipulative girl who is into drugs and alcohol. Kelly is with Brandon by now, Donna and David have split, Brandon becomes the new student body president of CU, Kelly is almost burned alive at a party, David dates Clare, Dylan goes to rehab, Donna dates Ray, Andrea has an affair and cheats on Jesse, Kelly makes the cover of Seventeen magazine, there is a stupid episode with Dylan going into hypnosis and finding out he was Billy McCoy in the Wild West, and Jim and Cindy put their house on the market to move to Hong Kong.
This is season 5 in a nutshell. There is so much material in between and the drama of it all is as addictive as always. I love to hate Valerie, hate seeing Donna and David apart and I cannot wait for this release. It's excellent and all fans of 90210 should be happy with this season.

(More customer reviews)I'm not through the whole season yet but I am already mad at the EXTENSIVE cutting of scenes in the Greek episode. The cheesy music instead of the music from the series I can tolerate (but am SO happy they kept the music in Season 3's finale) but the eliminating of scenes I cannot. They completely took out the storyline of Aundrea going ot the sorority with her star of David and only show the aftermath, cut out the girls showing up at Alpha house and cut out the end where the girls pledge to the Peach Pit sorority.
They better pony up to the music rights because this is getting ridiculous. I won't pay money for DVDs with chopped up shows!

(More customer reviews)With the announcement that "90210', based on the popular hit 1990's drama series "Beverly Hills 90210' would be returning to television and feature stars from the past but also new stars for the present, the series definitely received a lot of hype and excitement. The series would be created by Darren Star ("Runaway", "Cashmere Mafia", "Beverly Hills90210', "Melrose Place" and "Sex and the City") and developed by Rob Thomas ("Dawson's Creek" and "Veronica Mars"), Jeff Judah ("Life as We Know It") and Gabe Sachs ("Freaks & Geeks", "Just Shoot Me" and "Undeclared") and began airing on the CW in 2008.
The series revolves around Harry Wilson moving his family from Kansas back to his home in Beverly Hills to live with his rich mother Tabitha and become principal of West Beverly Hills High School and his teenage children Annie and adopted son Dixon getting used to their new environment. Similar to the original series, there are a lot of twists and turns, but to best illustrate what the series is about is introducing the primary character of the series.
The Wilson Family
Harry Wilson (played by Rob Estes, "Women's Murder Club", "Providence" and "Suddenly Susan") - The father and husband. Also, the principal of West Beverly Hills High School. Used to be a wild person when he was younger and used to date Tracy Clark (the mother of Naomi) and both had a child which he never knew about.
Debbie Wilson (Lori Loughlin, "Full House", "In Case of Emergency" and "Summerland") - Loving mother and wife. A professional photographer who works at home and doesn't really get along with Harry's mother that well.
Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes, "Degrassi: The Next Generation") - The daughter who is trying to fit in and high school. Enjoys the performing arts and dates the popular jock Ethan Ward who once was in long relationship with Naomi. A former friend of Annie and now rival.
Dixon Wilson (Tristan Wilds, "The Wire") - The adoptive son of the Wilson family. Athletic and because he is African-American and was raised by a Caucasian family, he often feels like an outsider but for the most part, his parents and family love him. He dates Annie's good friend Silver. Dixon works at the Peach Pit.
Tabitha Wilson (Jessica Walter, "Arrested Development", "Trapper, John, M.D.", "Play Misty For Me") - Mother of Harry and lives in a mansion in Beverly Hills. She loves to drink alcohol too much and often meddles into the parenting of Harry and Debbie, thus her relationship with her daughter-in-law is not the best. A former actress.
The Clark Family
Tracy Clark (Christina Moore, "Hawthorne", The Bad Girls Guide") - A rich wife who is currently in a bitter divorce and is the mother of Naomi. She used to date Harry when they were teenagers and were a big couple. With Harry back in town, she starts to have interest in him despite knowing he's married. She reveals to Harry that they have a child.
Naomi Clark (AnnaLynne McCord, "Nip/Tuck", "American Heiress") - The popular diva at West Beverly High School and dated the popular jock Ethan Ward. And is used to being treated special. Spoiled but also from a broken family which leads her to bad boys. She has a bitter rivalry with Annie.
The Taylor/Silver Family
Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth, "Beverly Hills 90210', "What I Like About You") - The West Beverly Hills High School guidance counselor. Has a son with Dylan McKay and takes care of him and her sister Erin. With her recent split up with Dylan, she tries to have a relationship with teacher Ryan. And to further complicate things, her old high school friend Brenda Walsh is back. Kelly helps the teens at West Beverly Hills High School.
Erin Silver (Jessica Stroup, "Homecoming") - The anti-student who runs a blog at her high school making fun of the popular students (her former friends). Because of her mother's instability at home, she moves in with her older sister Kelly. She is Annie's best friend and dates her Annie's brother Dixon.
Other Main Characters
Ethan Ward (Dustin Milligan, "Runaway") - The high school jock and dated the most popular girl on campus Naomi. But he had a summer fling a long time ago with Annie Wilson and now that she's back, he ends up having a relationship with her. Despite his playboy ways, he gradually grows up as a person.
Adrianna Tate-Duncan (Jessica Lowndes, "The Haunting of Molley Hartley, "Greek") - The actress who's parents got into a bitter divorce and because her family doesn't make much money now, her mother pushes her to get acting or commercial roles to support them. The stress has forced her to become a drug addict and eventually pushing people away from her. Best friend of Naomi and eventually begins dating Navid.
Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold, "Dirt") - Ryan is a teacher at West Beverly High School. A teenager that everyone likes and is dating Kelly Taylor. Because he was messing around with an undercover officer (posing as a student at the high school), rumors ran rampant that he was having sexual relations with a student and damaged his reputation.
Navid Shirazi (Michael Steger, "The Cheetah Girls") - The media/tech expert and geek. Good friends with Dixon and eventually starts dating Adrianna and standing by her when no one else wanted to.
