This is the episode list for Full House Season 8!
1. Comet's Excellent Adventure
Jesse is so self absorbed in his own problems with "The Rippers" that he mistakenly tells Michelle she can walk the dog by herself.
2. Breaking Away
Letting go of your babies is hard to do as Jesse and Becky find out when it's time for the boys to go to pre-school.
3. Making out is Hard to Do
Jesse's competitive streak is unleashed when he learns that the Rippers' new lead singer has brought more success to the band than Jesse ever did. This experience prompts Jesse to get serious and form a new band of his own. When invited to her friend Gia's place for a party, Stephanie arrives armed with Pictionary--but the events of this gathering prove to be quite different than what Stephanie expected.
4. I've Got a Secret
What good is a secret club if it's not a secret. Danny spills the secret that Michelle told him about their secret club. Michelle gets kicked out of the club because of it.
5. To Joey, With Love
When your substitute teacher is somebody you live with, it's hard to maintain a fine line between the two. This is the case when Michelle--whose third grade class is in need of a substitute--begs Joey to fill the position. Eager to work with the children and be a good role model, Joey does his best to make a good impression, but when class begins, all the kids want is a free comedy session. When their out-of-control behavior prompts Joey to get tough, he ends up sending Michelle to the principal's office--a decision that places a serious damper on their close bond. Meanwhile, Jesse reluctantly agrees to let Danny audition as a guitarist for his new band, but what Jesse doesn't realize is that this longtime king of spic and span also knows how to rock 'n roll!
6. You Pet it, You Bought it
Remember how you used to be lucky if you scored a couple dollars from your sidewalk lemonade stand? Well, after earning a cool $221.00 with her own stand, Michelle heads straight to the candy store--but gets sidetracked and comes home with a donkey. Danny agrees to let her keep it until morning, which results in a long, loud evening that is only calmed when Jesse stays up all night serenading "Shorty" with a certain television theme song. The family narrowly survives this grueling time with Shorty, and although Michelle is sad to part with him, she decides it is best to send him to a more appropriate home.
7. On the Road Again
Many things are not the same as we remember them from our youth. This is the case for Jesse when his new band tours and he returns to his old motel room. And he sees it's a dump.
8. Claire and Present Danger
As Danny starts spending more time with Claire, Stephanie and Gia fantasize about the possibility of becoming stepsisters. Michelle, however, is not quite ready for these types of changes, and her methods of sabotaging her father's latest relationship are both shocking and hilarious. Meanwhile, DJ experiences some troubles in her own love life when her boyfriend Viper begins feeling threatened by her intellectually.
9. Stephanie's Wild Ride
You know getting more mature when you not only hear that little voice inside you but you actually listen to it. Until then it's great to have somebody help you. Such is the case for Stephanie when she wants to put herself in danger and DJ stops her.
10. Under the Influence
Friends don't let other friends drive drunk. When Kimmy gets intoxicated at a party, DJ risks destroying their friendship when she refuses to let her get behind the wheel. While Kimmy is frustrated at being treated like a child, she may soften when she learns the emotional reason behind DJ's insistence. Meanwhile, after Michelle angrily snaps at the twins for getting in her way, she enlists the help of Jesse to make amends with them--a request that leads to unprecedented chaos in the Tanner kitchen!
11. Arrest Ye Merry Gentlemen
When she regrets purchasing a tacky Christmas gift for her father, Michelle convinces Jesse to take her back to the store on Christmas Eve for an exchange. Crotchety store owner Mr. Dreghorn is not very cooperative, however, and when Jesse and Michelle push him to the limit, he places them under arrest and locks them in the shop. Back at home, the family does their best to help the twins perceive Santa as something more than a frightening monster.
12. D.J's Choice
Stunned when Viper suddenly breaks up with her, DJ finds immediate comfort with former flame Nelson. As their common experiences with heartbreak help them reconnect romantically, DJ finds herself in a difficult situation when Viper returns, begging her to take him back. Meanwhile, an act of vandalism at the community playground prompts everyone in town to team up and repair the damage.
13. The Producer
Danny is initially delighted when Michelle takes interest in writing about him for a Take Your Daughter to Work assignment, especially since he is confident that his boss will be giving him a promotion. When he is snubbed for a producer position by Becky--who has not been working as long as him--Danny feels the pangs of jealousy and makes an impulsive decision to quit the show. When he is quickly replaced by the loud and obnoxious Phil Blankman, Danny's bottled-up resentment toward Becky leads to a sudden blow-up. Meanwhile, sugar lovers DJ and Stephanie have a face-off to see who can avoid sweets the longest, Nicky and Alex exasperate their parents with their frequent public tantrums, and Joey has difficulty coping when his favorite childhood snack is discontinued.
14. Super Bowl Fun Day
A promise made should be a promise kept. Joey should have kept his promise to take Michelle's science group to the science museum instead of a bar just to be able to watch the Super Bowl.
15. My Left and Right Foot
Some seemingly harmless teasing from DJ and Stephanie leaves Michelle feeling self-conscious about the size of her feet--but maybe some shrink wrap and ice water will help cut them down to size! Danny and Joey team up with Jesse to do a bedtime singing routine for the twins, just as they used to do with Michelle, but when Becky tries to join in, they have a hard time explaining to her that her "unique" singing voice doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the group.
16. Air Jesse
When she volunteers as a coach for a charity basketball game, DJ chooses Danny, Joey, and Jesse to play on her team. The only problem is that Jesse can barely dribble a ball (literally) and despite a cram practice session with the guys, he seems to be a hopeless case. But when a certain NBA sensation shows up at the basketball court, will he have what it takes to prepare Jesse for the big event? Meanwhile, Becky--who doesn't have the heart to be honest about a hideous blouse that Stephanie made for her at school--opts instead to sport it in public.
17. Dateless in San Francisco
As Danny prepares for his first Valentine's Day with Claire, Becky gets excited about what Jesse will have set up for them this year, but she is disappointed to find that he appears to be losing interest in being the "King of Romance" he once was. With this exciting day approaching, even Michelle's third grade class gets into the spirit. With their class party coming up, Lisa has the bright idea of pairing all the girls up with the boys, and Michelle and Teddy are placed together. Determined to turn up the heat a little bit, Michelle's efforts to push the romance only end up alienating Teddy. Joey, too, is having some relationship woes of his own; he has received a gift from a secret admirer, but he is afraid that it's from Mrs. Carruthers, the obnoxious woman who can't seem to keep herself away.18. We Got the Beat
Practice makes perfect. When you don't practice you get what Stephanie and her newly formed band was at their debut.
19. Taking the Plunge
Crushed when she receives a rejection letter from Stanford University, DJ is left with a feeling of uncertainty about her future. Kimmy, who knows that DJ will still be attending an excellent school somewhere, is concerned about what will happen to their friendship when high school is over. Unable to cope with the idea of losing her best pal, Kimmy decides that her best option is to elope immediately with her plumber boyfriend Duane. When DJ catches wind of this, she and Nelson fly down to Reno and change her mind--but when she leaves a note for her father explaining her whereabouts, a freakish misunderstanding prompts a frantic Danny to believe that DJ and Nelson are the ones getting hitched! Meanwhile, Joey is excited for the opportunity to meet with Queen Elizabeth, but his improper etiquette at the reception leads to serious trouble.
20. Up On the Roof
DJ tries to pull the ultimate senior prank. She put the principal's car on the roof. Then it starts raining. But Principal Robolard doesn't mind it.
21. Leap of Faith
When an elderly yet feisty woman guest stars on Wake Up, San Francisco with spirited stories about her bungee jumping hobby, Becky is inspired to spice up her own life with this thrilling new experience. Upset to learn that Becky is seriously going through with this, Jesse does his best to talk her out of it, but his efforts only result in friction between the couple. Meanwhile, when Michelle convinces Danny to let her attend a concert with DJ. Stephanie--who was originally supposed to go with her older sister--conspires with DJ and forces Michelle to surrender, but will the girls soften when they realize the real reason why their baby sister wanted to attend the show so much?

7th Heaven - The Sixth Season Review

7th Heaven - The Sixth Season
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
With the release of this 6th season quickly approaching, that means that more than half of the series is already out, so being able to collect Seasons 1-11 seems more attainable than ever! Sadly, it appears that the poorly edited episodes and all-too-typical music changes probably won't be addressed, but if you're a big "7th Heaven" fan, you can't deny that it's better than not having them on DVD at all.
Like many others, I grew up with this show. I was a fifth grader when it all began, and by the time its last episode aired, I was almost done with college. I think this show will always hold up as one that was brave enough to deal with contemporary issues in a tasteful way, all while portraying a loving American family that managed to stick together, even though they were far from perfect. With each passing year, the social issues presented got deeper without steering away from their classic "family friendly" ways. I have to admit that Seasons 1-5 were probably the best, and the first two years were my all-time favorites, when the original Camden kids were young, and before the storylines started getting more complex to accommodate the classic "growing pains." It was around Season 6 that I started seeing the show weaken a little bit, but of course, at this point, they were only midway through the series as a whole, and as the kids grew up and new characters were introduced, there was plenty more of a story that the writers wanted to tell.
Season 6 finds oldest child Matt getting into med school at last and receiving his first glimpse at the girl he will eventually marry, whose Jewish roots create a serious clash between the two families. Former "fallen angel" Mary, who is trying to deal with her mistakes and has shaped up quite a bit in the past year (despite having a shameless lapse of good judgment every now and then) trains to be an airplane pilot, struggles to rebuild her relationship with her family, and has two men eager to marry her. Good girl Lucy, who convinced her parents to let her get engaged right out of high school at the end of last year, returns home after a summer with her fiance, and chooses to mope around and cry instead of explaining why the ring is suddenly off her finger. Teenager Simon enters a more rebellious world of alcohol, dating, and driving, while sassy young Ruthie--who is probably the most intelligent of the Camden bunch--corresponds by letter with a soldier in the Marine Corps and comes face-to-face with an emotionally damaging teacher from her past. Youngest Camden offpsring Sam and David are only about three now, so there isn't much to say about them (although I can't say there really ever was much to say about them, to be honest). Also present in this season is the infamous "bad boy" Robbie Palmer, who begins building a better reputation for himself and serves as both a son and an older brother to the Camden family. Then, of course, there's Eric, who continues dealing with the various trials and tribulations of being a Reverend (which includes coming to terms with his oldest son's desire to convert to Judaism) and Annie, who takes a teaching job at Ruthie's school and finds herself in the middle of a student's domestic problems.
Guest stars include singer Joy Enriquez, the memorable Andrew Keegan as Mary's former boyfriend Wilson, and a first look at the infamous Kevin Kinkirk, who may have what it takes to piece Lucy's broken heart back together. In short, it's not the very best season of the series, but it's still a pretty good one with some very nice moments, most notably (in my opinion) the episode "Suspicion," where 10-year-old Ruthie meets a serious challenge in her young life when she chooses to defend her friendship with a Muslim classmate. If you're a "7th Heaven" enthusiast, you'll want to add this one to your DVD collection. Is Season 7 on its way, too? I am confident that it is!
Additional Note: After picking up my Season 6 DVD today (June 10), I noticed that the six individual discs are now grey and do not have the art that the previous 5 season sets had, with the pictures of the Camden family members. There is also a note on the DVD box that they edited some scenes out, and boy, did they ever! The bad thing is that they take a random line or two of dialogue out right in the middle of a scene, so even if you've never seen the episode in your life, there's a really good chance you'll be able to tell, anyway. For instance, Eric's classic "Popeye the Sailor Man" joke to Annie in the season opener is removed, which means that Annie's little rant before that is very abruptly cut off, and in the September 11-centered episode, 11-year-old Ruthie is supposed to sing and dance to Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" in the first and last scenes, but because obtaining music rights is such a hassle, they opted to omit the scenes altogether, which is a real bummer, because those two scenes were a pretty big part of the episode. Sadly, they are putting these sets together more and more carelessly with each season, but just the same, I look forward to watching the episodes tonight. If we want these sets on DVD, this is the kind of stuff we must deal with. The good news is that because there are no special features or anything extra, the price is pretty low if you buy it at the right place (Target, Walmart, etc...)

Disney's DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp Review

Disney's DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In 2006, Disney released DuckTales The Movie: Treasure Of The Lost Lamp onto DVD for the first time in region 1 areas. However, instead of giving it a wide release, Disney decided to offer it exclusively through the Disney Movie Club. Later that same year, it also became a potential reward through their new Disney Movie Rewards program. Although some of Disney's DMC/DMR exclusives have since gotten wide releases, DuckTales The Movie has yet to do that.
The disc they've released is rather lightweight. Although it's still a steal for Movie Rewards members, the $19.99 it demands on the Movie Club seems about $5-$10 too high. (This isn't counting the prices poor suckers are paying for it on eBay or Amazon Marketplace, not knowing all that you need to do is join the Disney Movie Club to buy it.) The only bonus feature is a game that you won't play more than once. That's it. Not a trailer, not a featurette, not a cartoon featuring Huey, Dewey, and Louie - nada. It's not a matter of space - on a DVD-5 disc, you have room for at least 4.35 GB of data. This DVD only uses 3.31 GB. Disney, you COULD have put a little more on here.
However, the movie's transfer is very well done. There's occasional heavy grain, dirt, scratches, and the like, but for the most part, the transfer is nice and clean. And the 2.0 Dolby Digital Stereo track gets the job done.
All in all, I can't say that you shouldn't get this DVD if you have a chance. Just having the movie on DVD is worth the price you pay, but it would have been nice if Disney had treated us to a few more bonus materials on this DVD besides a game that's fun, but likely won't be played more than once.

Here's all the eps from Season Two:
Much Ado About Everything 9/8/1993
Amanda has a party at the building but makes Alison work late so she can be alone with Billy. Keith pays a homeless man to make filthy calls to Alison. Michael and Kimberly shack up.
A Long Night's Journey 9/15/1993
When Alison goes back to Keith's hotel room to take him to the airport he tells her that he has been stalking her and then tries to rape her! This ep was sorta unrealistic (in a foolish way.) Because Alison was attacked by Keith, reported the attack to the police, Keith was arrested and interrogated by the police and the DA decides not to file charges ~ this all happens in 1 evening!
Revenge 9/22/1993
Billy shows up at Keith's work to tell him to stay away from Alison. After being shot down by Alison over the phone Keith takes his own life. Sydney gets her kicks by cleaning Michael's dirty laundry.
Fire Power 9/29/1993
Amanda almost fires Alison when she enjoys just a little too much of some of the hair of the dog that bit her!
Of Bikes and Men 10/6/1993
Jake realizes that he accidentally burned down his shop.
Hot and Bothered 10/13/1993
Billy and Alison try to get Jo and Jake back together. Jane's divorce is finalized. She goes out to celebrate with the girls and then feeling lonely goes to Robert's apartment and has sex with him on his floor. Sydney passes out on Michael's couch after his party.
Flirting With Disaster 10/20/1993
Furious, Jane throws turn-coat Sydney out after she learns that Sydney went to Michael's party. Amanda rents Sydney an apartment. Michael and Sydney get it on when Kimberly is out of town.
No Bed of Roses 10/27/1993
Palmer offers Jake a job. Sydney blackmails Michael into sex by threatening to expose him. Jane wants to take things slower with Robert.
Married to It 11/3/1993
Sydney takes a job at Shooters as a server. Kimberly catches Sydney in bed with Michael then runs to Jane for sympathy. Alison is jealous (yet again) when Steve starts to casually see Jo. By the way, I love it when Jane says to Alison, "my sister, that's really sick." Honey, she ain't seen nothing yet.
The Tangled Web 11/10/1993
Jo, Billy and Alison go to Steve's ranch. Jake finds out that Palmer is a cheat.
Collision Course 11/17/1993
Michael gets back into Kimberly's good graces by having dinner with her and then giving her a fancy diamond (engagement) ring. On the way home from the restaurant Michael drives d runk and gets into a h orrible a ccident. The police suspect d runk d riving and in an effort to save Michel's b utt Matt agrees to change his blood level on his medical hospital records. Sydney meets Lauren Ethridge, a proprietor of a high-class h ooker ring.
Cold Turkey 11/24/1993
Amanda sends Alison out of town on business during Thanksgiving. The FBI orders that Jake help out in their on-going investigation against Palmer. When Jane refuses to spend Thanksgiving with Syd she goes over to Lauren's home to spend the holiday with her new "family." Marion brings her daughter home to Cleveland.
Duet for One 12/1/1993
Matt gives Michael the bad news; that Kimberly has died! Michael arrogantly says, "I should sue that b itch for taking her out of here;" obviously referring to Marion Shaw! He's then transferred to a rehab center but is able to guilt Jane into letting him come stay with her. Furious with Alison (for spending Thanksgiving out of town with Steve), Billy goes to stay with Jake. Meanwhile, Syd goes to work for Lauren. One of her clients enjoys kinky sex games which isn't something Sydney is into so she skips out. Suffice it to say, Lauren is FURIOUS and threatening when she says to Sydney, "don't you ever put my name or my livelihood behind the 8-ball!"
Strange Bedfellows 12/15/1993
Alison goes to Steve's ranch but (like Kirstie Alley did) realizes that he isn't the man for her. When Michael falls off the sofa (at Jane's apartment) Syd hears his agonizing cries and offers to help him, only after he agrees to apologize for the way he treated her. On the rebound from Alison and on the rebound from Jake, both Amanda and Billy spend the night together.
Under the Mistletoe 12/22/1993
Billy is able to sneak out of Amanda's apartment without Alison seeing him (although he is half nude.) I really like how they played the Christmas Music as Billy was scurrying through the courtyard holding his pants; it really added a touch of class & Christmas cheer! Matt puts together a Christmas party for his stepdaughter, Nikki. In the spirit of Christmas, Alison and Billy get back together. Sydney makes a tearful confession to a priest, "I'm a p rostitute."
Reunion Blues 1/5/1994
Amanda makes threats to Billy when she finds out that he's back with Allison. When Sydney is busted for hooking Michael bails her out. He then blackmails Syd into helping him chase away Robert (from Jane's be d!)
Michael's Game 1/12/1994
Alison goes over Amanda's head at D&D and complains to Bruce about her. Bruce doesn't like Amanda (any more than Alison does) so he rightfully doesn't take Amanda's side. (It's absolutely surreal to see Amanda be put on her place, and by a man, no less!!) Sydney gets one of her little h ooker-friends to sleep with (a very h orny) Robert during a business trip. The s ex is videotaped and an anonymous package is sent to Jane who subsequently throws Robert out in the middle of the night (when she finally gets around to watching the video.) With enjoyment in his eyes (and ma lice in his heart,) Michael watches the fight from upstairs out Syd's window!
Arousing Suspicions 1/26/1994
After Michael rejects her (once again) Sydney tells Jane about Michael's involvement in scheming to break her and Robert up. Michael tries to explain to Jane but she throws him out anyway as he says, "like I drove her kicking and screaming into the w horehouse." Jane tells him that Syd has made her mistakes but she would rather have her sister in her life than his sorry self!! I loooooove it!!
The Young Men and the Sea 2/2/1994
Amanda and Jake invest in Reed's business. (Who knows why, because about the only thing that Reed looks qualified to do is strip.) Jane files a restraining order against Michael when he starts harassing her. When Michael shows up at her apartment Sydney comes running down to hide him so he won't get arrested.
Parting Glances 2/9/1994
Jake and Amanda bail on Reed's business venture. Sydney hears Michael talking in his sleep and puts two and two together; finding out that Michael was drunk on the night of the accident. Alison goes to NY to see Billy.
Swept Away 2/16/1994
After being kidnapped and held captive and beaten, Jo harpoons Reed! Somehow he's able to get back onto the boat when Jo shoots to kill. Sydney blackmails Michael into letting her move in with him.
With This Ball and Chain 2/23/1994
Amanda gets an excellent attorney to represent Jo (on the murder charges) who's able to get the charges dropped. At Billy and Alison's engagement party Jake punches Billy because of his little Christmastime fling with Amanda. Despite his protests, Sydney thinks that she and Michael are made for one another.
Otherwise Engaged 3/2/1994
Sydney and Jane get into a horrible catfight that spills over into the swimming pool when Jane sees Sydney wearing her wedding dress. Inside her apartment Jane says to Syd, "OMG, take it off now and get the hell out." Syd says, "fine I'm leaving," as she runs out with the dress still on! The girls' fight spills over into the pool as Jane says to Sydney, "you are trash Sydney, with the rap sheet to prove it." Later in the ep, Mrs. Andrews (Gail Strickland) comes to the beach house to try to get Sydney to come back to Earth. Syd says to her mom, "why don't you take your broom and fly back to Chicago!" And, she goes ahead with the wedding and the only guest is Matt (who little Syd is also blackmailing.) Michael takes Sydney on a honeymoon and implies to Matt that he is going to be a widower in the near future!
Love, Mancini-Style 3/16/1994
Michael attempts to try to kill Sydney but just can't do it. Matt confesses to Jane why in fact Michael agreed to marry her little...Read more›

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers - Volume 1 (1989) Review

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers - Volume 1 (1989)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There was a time when afternoon television programming was the highlight of the day for millions of young people across America. The reason for all this after-school joy: a very special programming block known simply as "The Disney Afternoon." Of course, the Disney Afternoon did not simply materialize out of thin-air. It was a gradual process to develop, and it all started with two very special animated shows, "Duck Tales" and "Chip `n' Dale: Rescue Rangers." First came "Duck Tales," which blew fans away with animation and stories far superior to the programming that was standard afternoon cartoon TV fare at the time. Working with the classic comic book stories of Duck Family creator Carl Barks as a basis, Disney created a memorable and much-loved series that raised the bar for animated TV programming to a new high that later shows were frequently expected to reach. Two years later, Disney once again took classic characters and redefined them for the small screen, this time in the form of "Chip `n' Dale: Rescue Rangers." Rescue Rangers was an excellent follow-up to Duck Tales, maintaining the high animation and writing standards, and doing a superb job developing new and classic characters as well. Chip `n' Dale were every bit the same characters we all new and loved from their old exploits with Donald Duck, but now they were more distinct and "real" than ever before! Chip was more than ever portrayed as the bold and serious leader, while Dale took on his role as the adventurous slacker with all the seriousness of his crime-solving counterpart. Rounding out the team of miniscule crime-solving heroes were new characters Gadget Hackwrench, the beautiful mouse inventor, Monterey Jack, the burly Australian adventurer with a serious weakness for cheese, and Zipper, the tiny housefly with a gi-normous heart. Together, the little gang traveled to and from Ranger Headquarters in the Ranger-Wing, solving unsolvable crimes and helping poor souls in need with their individual skills and teamwork combined. Their enemies were often random nitwits and evil-doers, but they did have recurring baddies in the form of mad scientist Professor Nimnul and ruthless animal kingpin "Fat Cat" and his cronies.
"Chip `N' Dale: Rescue Rangers," just like its predecessor, "Duck Tales," has finally and thankfully been released in its first DVD set. This three disc "Volume One" collection includes the first 27 episodes of the classic animated series from Walt Disney Television Animation Japan. The episodes are detailed below.
Disc 1:
Catteries not Included: When the Rangers investigate the case of a little girl's missing cat, they discover a scheme by the nefarious Professor Nimnul to use static electricity to power his newest evil invention! His source for the static charge: Kidnapped cats courtesy of his robot dogs!
Three Men and a Booby: During a disastrous trip to the local supermarket, the Rangers stumble onto the case of a nervous Booby Bird's egg-napped egg! Chip, Dale, and Monterey soon find themselves clueless egg-sitters, and now they must rescue the mother bird from a maniacal egg collector!
The Carpetsnaggers: While the Rangers attempt to thwart a rash of robberies involving seemingly "magic" flying carpets, Monterey and Gadget debate the nature of the mysterious circumstances.
Piratsy Under the Seas: Frustrated with having to pick up after himself and follow rules, Dale is thrilled when the gang comes across the sea dwelling Pi-rats who live as they please and are eagerly seeking new members!
Adventures in Squirrelsitting: After an encounter with Fat Cat results in the Rangers wrecking the home of some local squirrels, our heroes volunteer for babysitting duty to make up for the error. Things go awry, however, when teen Squirrel Tammy's crush on Chip lands her and her baby sister in the claws of Fat Cat himself! This episode features a rousing musical number and is a fan favorite!
Flash the Wonder Dog: Flash the Wonder Dog is a TV star and hero to fans everywhere, especially Dale, so when Fat Cat and his gang frame the animal actor in an attempt to ruin his career and take the canine populace down a notch, it's Rescue Rangers to the rescue! Another fan and personal favorite, in no small part due to the gorgeous actress character in the opening scene with Flash.
The Pound of the Baskervilles: To help a dog and his owner regain their rightful ownership to a vast family estate, the Rescue Rangers consult the books of Chip's own hero, Sureluck Jones, for help in finding the will and chasing off the greedy brother that has taken control.
Parental Discretion Retired: Monterey Jack's father, Cheddarhead Charlie, blows into town for a visit and attempts to teach the Rangers a thing or two about adventurin' the Cheddarhead Charlie way!

The Case of the Cola Cult: Just as Gadget is questioning her usefulness to the team, the Rangers encounter a disturbing cult of rats who worship the fizz of "Kookoo Cola."
Throw Mummy From the Train: On a vacation to mysterious Egypt, the Rangers agree to help a mummy retrieve a ring from a thieving archaeologist's assistant before he mistakenly brings a demon sphinx to life!
A Wolf in Cheap Clothing: Dale's obsession with horror comics causes him to jump to supernatural conclusions when the team's investigation into some strange robberies put them on the track of a wolf who spends his nights as a free-wheeling human. A fave among wolf and werewolf lovers like myself!
Prehysterical Pet: In his eagerness to have a pet of his own and prove he can handle the responsibility, Dale secretly takes in a tiny Dinosaur visiting from another planet, but the more the Dinosaur eats, the bigger he gets!
Robocat: The Rangers discover a mechanical cat and attempt to find him a home, until Fat Cat reprograms him for his own purposes.
Does Pavlov Ring A Bell?: Chip `n' Dale are becoming more aggressive in their competition for Gadget's affections, and things only get worse when a lab rat named Sparky seems to be beating them both.
Featuring some of the best voice talent in the business and spanning a total of 65 episodes, "Chip `n' Dale: Rescue Rangers" is high-quality Disney entertainment that can appeal to all ages, so long as the viewers are young at heart. Full of great memories for those of us who grew up with these fantastic programs, this 3 disc set is a must own, even if it is not everything the hardcore fan has been longing for. The source material could do with some restoration, white marks do appear frequently, and there is not an extra to be found (a crime in the case of a DVD boxed set). Of course, what concerns many of us the most is the lack of the five-part premiere, "To the Rescue." As with the "Duck Tales" DVD set, the 5-part premiere story is not included, which is most distressing, particularly...Read more›

Beverly Hills 90210: Seventh Season Review

Beverly Hills 90210: Seventh Season
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The drama continues in Beverly Hills 90210: The Seventh Season as everyone's favorite drama crew begins their senior year of college at California University. The dramatic characters of 90210 return for another season of soap opera-quality teen drama: Val Malone (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen), Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestly), Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering), Donna Martin (Tori Spelling), David Silver (Brian Austin Green), Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), and Clare Arnold (Kathleen Robertson).
Season seven picks up during the summer just before the beginning of senior year at C.U. Brandon and Steve are in the middle of a cross-country drive before returning to Beverly Hills for the school year. Once school begins, Brandon engrosses himself in the campus television station (as well as a new, Kelly-free relationship) while Steve fights to stay in school and land a job... all while still keeping Clare and her father, the C.U. chancellor, happy with him.
Meanwhile, Val struggles with financial trouble at her club, After Dark. She decides to seek out help from a family friend, but things get out of hand when when an unexpected pregnancy creates friction between Val and the other 90210-ers.
Clare continues to struggle in her relationship with Steve while trying to balance her goals and issues with adjusting to new challenges. Even though Clare is known for keeping Steve in a relationship the longest in the show's history, there is constant trouble between the two as Steve falls back into his carefree ways.
Donna and David's tempestuous relationship continues throughout the season, ranging from perfectly calm to breakup. Both characters try to encourage their friends and one another to finish up college, but things become difficult when David decides to drop out of college and suffers serious mental problems while Donna's former attacker and near-rapist begins stalking her again.
Kelly revisits her past with Brandon and struggles with lingering feelings that collide with other characters. She also attempts to become friends with her long-time nemesis, Val, but the two girls seem to be more prone to fighting than being friends.
Season seven ends with a highly satisfying college graduation for all of the cast members, but it leaves the audience wondering: what's going to happen next? How can we possibly keep following all these characters as they grow up, get jobs, and move on with their careers? Even though the series still feels like it has some life left in it, the two-part graduation special made the story seemed a little final.
But by the far the best part of this DVD set is being able to experience all of your favorite Beverly Hills 90210 drama in the privacy of your own home (complete with tissue box) in a complete and newly restored, remastered version that looks unlike any other version of the series out there. While non-fans may have a little trouble getting into the constantly intense drama of the series, long-time fans will be delighted with the quality and completeness of this 7-disc collectible DVD set.

Beverly Hills 90210: Season Eight Review

Beverly Hills 90210: Season Eight

Maybe it's the nostalgia... or maybe it's the beauty of the boxset where you can become really engrossed in a t.v. show, watching episode after episode like reading chapter after chapter of a really good book you can't put down...
But I had quite low expectations of season 8 of 90210 on dvd and it turned out to be much better than I remembered.
I remembered this as the season that the show started to wane but actually this season was another fine run of the show.
It starts off a little rocky with the silly daytime- soap- type amnesia storyline for Kelly. But once the show got going, it was another solid year of ups and downs for the gang of friends we've grown to know and love over the years.
This year actually starts off a lot quicker then previous school/ college based seasons. The gang are thrown into the real world at last...
So this season sees Kelly and Brandon slowly tire of each other , Brandon's infidelity, the show continues to tackle social issues like drug abuse, gay rights, teen pregnancy etc. through Brandon's work as a journalist and Kelly's work at a clinic, Donna and David drift apart, David loses the club, gains some fame and loses it again, Valerie and David get back together, Val continues to be the most fun character with her bitchy antics, Steve looks like he has grown up the most when he dates single mother Carly until mid-season when Hilary Swank (Oscar winner!) leaves... we are also introduced to Noah, a kinda Dylan -esque rich guy with lots of baggage but he comes across a lot more likeable and less self-pitying than Dylan ever did!
This season's highlights for me:
St. Brandon slips up at last when he meets Emma. Although it seems so out of character for Brandon to cheat... it kinda underlines how bored Kelly and Brandon are of each other by now and how there really is no future for them...
Val's juggling of the rich guy Cooper and supposedly poor as a pauper Noah was also fun,
More glimpses of the vulnerable side of Val (the drug/rape affair, the HIV fear) really humanised her as more than just a bitch again this season.
Noah was a welcome addition, Carly was never really rounded out as a character and her being written out mid season was kinda lame ... they didn't try to integrate her into the group much this year... she was more of a 2d stereotype- the struggling single mom.. it was a shame the writers didn't round her character out more...
And this season sees a proper cliff hanger for the show this year... with Val leaving us dangling about her fate...
All in all, this was a good season. Season 9 really will be where the show dips... with Val and Brandon both leaving early on , the show suffers... Brandon always was the heart of the show- the solid sensible one and Val was always so much fun..
Enjoy!

The picture may be only a bit better than the previous DVD releases...the sound is ridiculous and the 43 second intro from 2003...weak. I do agree that the cover art also sucks but I certainly don't care if the disc delivers the goods...this doesn't. Don't bother to upgrade from your normal DVD..its not!

Beverly Hills 90210 - The Sixth Season Review

Beverly Hills 90210 - The Sixth Season

Who would think that Kelly Taylor would become an addict? On this very intense season, we're introduced to Colin , who brings coke to her life. Also we have that annoying Susan, who dates Brandon and ultimately breaks his heart and Dylan getting married to Toni (while furious and revengeful on Marchette), and later leaving the famous zip code (but not for good, he returns some seasons later). We have that hateful Kelly-stalker Tara, the charming prince Carl (who hits on Clare), special appearances of Cindy Walsh and Andrea Zuckerman, a very sutle reference to Brenda on Scotland (at the end of the season), Ray Pruitt hurting Donna, Valerie's hateful and blackmailing friend, Ginger, David's mom trying to kill herself, and we almost lose Casa Walsh for good! (the show wouldn't be the same without that house!!)
This season is extraordinary; the whole series is superb. But the DVDs...I know, I know, everybody already complained about the music changes and the missing scenes (the ones with pop references, especially) But it's a shame that fans worldwide (and I'm writing this from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the show was called "Barrados no Baile" and was also a huge phenomenon) can't have on their shelves the complete and uncut seasons of such a great show. The same thing happened to "Fastlane", Will & Grace" and (in a small way) to "Charmed", among others. Some fans expected that the "complete series pack" of "Fastlane" or "Will & Grace" (to be released soon) would present the uncut episodes with ALL the original music; and I know that some fans also expect the same thing when all ten seasons of Beverly Hills 90210 are finally released, but I think it is most unlikely something like this will happen, that the studio will fix something on this matter.
Anyway, we, fans, HAVE to buy the seasons just this way, and we have to be happy and thankful that, at least, the Beverly Hills 90210 gang is on DVD.....What can we do NOW about it? In fact, what could we do in the first place?

Beverly Hills, 90210 - The Third Season (1990) Review

Beverly Hills, 90210 - The Third Season (1990)
Average Reviews:

Ok, I don't want to be negative about this show...or a traitor to my generation... I love Bev Hills 90210! I was a sophmore in high school when they were, at the shows start, and we were the same age and we grew up together. I watched (and taped) every episode for the whole 10 years... but those VHS tapes wear out, so imagine my joy when the DVD set came out... or not...
As I said, I have taped every episode, and I watch it now on Soapnet... and as you know like watching your favorite movie over and over, you can "talk along with the movie"... well I am that way with this show. I now know (but didn't until after having bought the first 2 seasons) that the box says in fine print on the back of the box that "MUSIC HAS BEEN CHANGED FOR THIS HOME ENTERTAINMENT VERSION. SOME EPISODES MAY BE EDITED FROM THEIR ORIGINAL NETWORK VERSIONS.", but come on!!! I noticed a wierd edit in another season episode and a spot here and there, not to mention in season one when all the girls have a slumber party and are signing along to "Mony Mony" but now the music is different... but The Senior Prom episode was seriously butchered! There were major parts gone... not to mention Cathy Dennis sang 2 songs at the prom and they cut the whole second song out, along with shots of her and most of the actors lines that were said during that song. I am very disappointed in this. The prom episode was a great one, not to mention a pivital part of the season. Part of the greatness of 90210 was the fact that they used new, up to date music for every episode.
Come on FOX... how cheap are you? We are all paying $40 or more for a set that probably costs $5 to make... You couldn't shell out some cash to keep this amazingly cool show intact in it's original condition??? And what are you going to do in future seasons??? There were tons of episodes later on in the Peach Pit After Dark where a famous music group plays there... are those hour long episodes going to be edited down to a half hour show?
So, before you start sending me hate email, let me say this:
My review comes to this = Yes, I love the show and Yes, I have and probably will buy every season on DVD. But Yes, I am disappointed in the editing. So to all of you die hard fans like me... be aware of this before you buy and watch it, so you aren't completly disappointed like I was when I first bought and watched them. Maybe they will get this figured out and stop their "editing" or "ruining" our favorite show!!!

One of the definitive, landmark shows of the 1990s, "90210" quickly became an important fixture on the FOX and in the popular discourse of adolescents and young adults. The third season’s main characters, Dylan, Kelly, Donna, Steve, David, Andrea and twins Brandon and Brenda all attended West Beverly Hills High School. Brandon and Brenda Walsh and their parents, transplants from Minneapolis were the stable nuclear family with strong values; their home was a safe haven for the whole gang and the center of much of the drama. The show dealt with a steady stream of love triangles and other romantic entanglements and occasionally touched on more serious issues as well.

Saved by the Bell - Seasons 1 & 2 (1989) Review

Saved by the Bell - Seasons 1 and 2 (1989)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
What young person can't remember spending their Saturday mornings watching the adventures of Zack and company at Bayside High on NBC's "Saved By The Bell"? Those who cannot perhaps have fond memories of watching the show in its popular syndicated airings on TBS. It's tough to stumble across anyone between the ages of 15 and 30 who hasn't seen most episodes and many more than once. If you're reading this, chances are you too remember the fun adventures high school provided for Zack, Slater, Screech, Kelly, Jessie, Lisa and their principal Mr. Belding in this excellent late '80s/early '90s sitcom.
With TV series as popular as they now are on DVD, and with this show relegated to early morning and lunch hour airings (inconvenient for most), what better time to release the first two seasons of "Saved By The Bell" to DVD?
This 5-disc set from Lions Gate Entertainment contains the first 33 episodes of "Saved By The Bell." The season that preceded the years at Bayside - "Good Morning Miss Bliss" (sometimes referred to as "Saved By The Bell: The Junior High Years" on TBS) - is unfortunately NOT included here. That series, which made its debut on The Disney Channel in 1988 and ran for 13 episodes, will hopefully be released at some point in the future. In addition to star Hayley Mills in the title role, the series featured four "SBTB" regulars. Although it differed in tone from the series that became such a hit and revolutionized the Saturday morning lineup, it is quite enjoyable in its own right, and very much deserves to be released to DVD.
The 33 episodes that are included are arranged by airdate, not production order, which essentially means you should watch the episode "King of the Hill" (which is on Disc 3) first - it's the pilot of this series and is about the first day of school when Zack meets Slater). Other than that, there aren't any noticeable continuity issues watching the episodes the way they are arranged.
Some of my favorite episodes in this set:
"The Gift" (Screech is struck by lightning and can see the future),
"Rent-a-Pop" (Zack gets James the actor/waiter to impersonate his father so he can go on a ski trip),
"Aloha, Slater" (Zack convinces the gang that Slater is dying so he'll move to Hawaii),
"Save the Max" (The old Bayside radio station is rediscovered and put to use),
"Running Zack" (Zack actually does research for a school assignment)
I do have a few minor quibbles. Even though there is space in the package for a booklet, there is none - so, there are no descriptions of the episodes, which might make it challenging for those who don't know all the episodes by title alone. Speaking of the package, be careful when peeling the sticker off the top. For some reason, it was placed right on top of the cardboard box instead of the plastic wrapping, so unless you're skillful (or some have suggested, have a hair dryer handy to heat the sticker), you're liable to take off some of the top of the front cover off when opening.
Another minor annoyance is that there are no chapter stops within the episodes, so you'll have to scan to get to a specific scene. It would have been nice (and easy) for chapter stops to have been included where commercial breaks would be, a practice common with most other studios.
Video quality is mostly fine, but a few of the earliest-produced episodes look worse than they probably should - lacking the sharpness of broadcast quality. The overwhelming majority looks okay, but they won't blow you away or anything. (It's probably unreasonable to expect they would.) Audio quality is also less-than-perfect (the volume level sometimes seems inconsistent), but listening at a reasonable volume, this is a non-issue.
As for supplemental material, this set gets a zero. As others have stated in their comments, the show certainly has potential for some nice bonus features. Naturally, I don't expect a 2-hour making-of documentary, but there are little things that would have been nice to include. Like the cast's other NBC TV appearances, or even NBC's "The More You Know" sequences featuring the cast members that every major teen idol seems to have done at one point. There is the strong "E! True Hollywood Story" special that aired last December, which would be nice to include.
And chances are, some of the cast would participate in DVD bonus features, had they been approached, which they were not according to Mario Lopez. (Dustin Diamond, Dennis Haskins, and Peter Engel partook in interviews for the E! special; surely, they would have been interested in contributing to the DVDs.)
I look forward to DVD releases for the rest of the show, plus the one-season runs of "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" and "The College Years", and the two made-for-television movies. Hopefully, some improvements will be made, and we'll see more "Saved By The Bell" DVDs released shortly, and with bonus features.
Still, in spite of these quibbles, I still give this box set 5 stars because of the show itself. Almost of the episodes are excellent, as the deal with real issues that affect high schoolers in a skewed-for-comedy fashion. The show never really took things too seriously and when it did (for instance, Jessie's now-famous struggle with caffeine pills or the Season 4 opener in which Zack and Slater went fisticuffs), it provided even more laughs. "Saved By The Bell" is a one-of-a-kind sitcom and remains extremely funny over a decade later. If only high school really was like Bayside.

Martin - The Complete Fifth Season is the final season of this '90s hit show. It's pretty sad this funny sitcom only lasted five little seasons. Tisha Campbell is rarely seen, she had issues with Lawrence and would only finish the finale if Martin agreed to keep his distance from her. This season is bittersweet, they are still some hilarious moments but the cast who had excellent chemistry the first 4 seasons is now gone and you can feel it. I highly recommend purchasing this groundbreaking show, good memories!

This is a fantastic season. With Brenda gone, having decided to stay in England, we meet Valerie who is a friend of the Walsh's from Buffalo and turns out to be a backstabbing and manipulative girl who is into drugs and alcohol. Kelly is with Brandon by now, Donna and David have split, Brandon becomes the new student body president of CU, Kelly is almost burned alive at a party, David dates Clare, Dylan goes to rehab, Donna dates Ray, Andrea has an affair and cheats on Jesse, Kelly makes the cover of Seventeen magazine, there is a stupid episode with Dylan going into hypnosis and finding out he was Billy McCoy in the Wild West, and Jim and Cindy put their house on the market to move to Hong Kong.
This is season 5 in a nutshell. There is so much material in between and the drama of it all is as addictive as always. I love to hate Valerie, hate seeing Donna and David apart and I cannot wait for this release. It's excellent and all fans of 90210 should be happy with this season.

I'm not through the whole season yet but I am already mad at the EXTENSIVE cutting of scenes in the Greek episode. The cheesy music instead of the music from the series I can tolerate (but am SO happy they kept the music in Season 3's finale) but the eliminating of scenes I cannot. They completely took out the storyline of Aundrea going ot the sorority with her star of David and only show the aftermath, cut out the girls showing up at Alpha house and cut out the end where the girls pledge to the Peach Pit sorority.
They better pony up to the music rights because this is getting ridiculous. I won't pay money for DVDs with chopped up shows!

So after plenty of lobbying and the internet community speaking out, DuckTales' Pilot, Treasure of the Golden Suns is making its way onto DVD, one Volume too late, but certainly nonetheless, great news. Not in its original movie format, but the 5 parts that went out into syndication after the first run of season one. Disc Two includes The Firefly Fruit Contest episodes (1-4), Merit-Time Adventure, The Golden Fleecing, Ducks of the West and The Time Teasers. Summer Rental (1985) Review

Summer Rental (1985)

This is one of my boyfriend's favorite movies and I have grown fond of it as well. It isn't the kind of movie that has you busting out laughing, but it puts a smile on your face and leaves you happy. The music is uplifting and the whole movie has a mellow tone, but I never considered it "slow" as some have.
I do have one issue with this movie, for which the lack of information is driving me crazy:
Am I the only person in the world to notice that there are scenes deleted from the pay channel, VHS and DVD versions? If you watch it on basic cable there are several scenes NOT found in the "uncut" (no commercials) versions:
1) On the drive down to Florida, they have fast food in the car, and feed the dog Archie the onion rings, who then has terrible gas
2) When they are in the wrong rental house the dog is continually shown chewing on the legs of the couch instead of the bones he is being offered by John Candy
3) Right after they leave the wrong house and the rightful owners sigh with relief, the couch falls over as a result of the dog chewing on the legs (they break)
Does Columbia Pictures have something against this dog? I thought those scenes added to the enjoyment of the film! I have purchased and returned the VHS and DVD versions, each time excited to be able to see the entire movie uncut.
If you're reading this, powers that can, please release a special edition with ALL the scenes!!!

Teen Wolf & Teen Wolf Too (1987) Review

Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too (1987)

This DVD is a disgrace to the epic masterpiece that is "Teen Wolf." I grew up watching this movie every other day on a scratchy old VHS we taped off of network TV. My brothers and I memorized nearly every line. It's humorous, eccentric, sentimental; a freakin' great movie.
"Teen Wolf Too," on the other hand, should never have existed. It is shameful that instead of loading this disc with extras from the original movie (it would have been great to see some of those scenes shot for TV, or even some commentary and outtakes), they put the ... retread sequel on here, whose first and greatest sin is that it is without Michael J. Fox.
I love the original "Teen Wolf" and the DVD is worth buying just to get a good version of it, but it deserved better treatment. Much, much better. Whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed of themselves.
