The 1st season of the hit series "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" is now finally on a two-disc DVD set with a whole lotta episodes on there starring the mean-spirited Mandy, the moronic Billy, and of course, The Grim Reaper himself. Such episodes include:
"Meet the Reaper" - The original pilot episode that started it all. As Grim attempts to reap the soul of a hamster named Mr. Snuggles, the two kids strike a deal with him, which he lost to.
"Fiend Is Like Friend Without the 'R'" - Introducing Nergal, a creepy being from the center of the earth, who kidnaps Billy and Mandy to be his friends. Soon Grim becomes concerned and reluctantly rescues them.
"Grim Or Gregory" - A case of mistaken identity on Halloween night has Grim confused with another kid in a reaper costume !
"Beasts and Barbarians" - A major inspiration to the video game, Grim transports the kids into another dimension where they battle bigger-than-life monsters in order to cure their gaming addictions.
"Hoss Delgado: Spectral Exterminator" - The first appearance of this tough guy who discovers and attempts on capturing the Grim Reaper.
"To Eris Human" - Introducing the sexy Goddess of Chaos, Eris, who takes Mandy as her minion leaving Grim feeling rather dumped.
"Toadblatt's School of Sorcery" - The first "Harry Potter" parody episode with its weird magic and other strange creatures. 'Nuff said.
"Brown Evil" - A two-parter where Billy cooks up some brownies that attracts a humongous horde of zombies ! It's up to Hoss Delgado to stop them.
"Creating Chaos" - One of the funniest episodes, Eris now recruits Billy to spread her chaos upon the globe. Unfortunately, Billy himself is a little more chaotic than her magic apple can do.
"Tween Wolf" - The hapless Irwin transforms into a werewolf which Billy adopts as his new pet.
"Love Is EVOL Spelled Backwards" - Nergal returns and attempts to marry Billy's Aunt Sis. Let's just hope Billy doesn't have that freak as his uncle.
This new set has an overload of bonus features like a commentary and an interview with series creator Maxwell Atoms, plus the "Brains" music video as seen in the classic episode "Little Rock of Horrors". The weirdest special features in the second disc include an episode in "Burp-O-Rama" and a virtual pet Mr. Snuggles. Perhaps the best bonus feature of all in the set is the 2 "Evil Con Carne" bonus episodes with optional "Skarr-O-Vision" feature. (I wish, however, they put in ALL of the "Evil Con Carne" episodes in the set. Then we can have "Grim and Evil" again !)
So if you've been waiting for this set to come by, get it while you still can. One thing's for sure, this is one series that will let you look Death in the eye... and laugh real hard. I really REALLY hope the rest of the "Billy and Mandy" series will be put on DVD real soon. But in the meantime, look for brand-new "Grim Adventures" episodes Friday nights on Cartoon Network's all-new "Fried Dynamite" block.

1.-The Yankee Doodle Mouse (7.23 minutes 26 June 1943)
Utterly charming tribute to America's fighting men. Jerry has a cat raid shelter in the basement of a house where he battles Tom. Oscar winner and patriotic.
2.-Sufferin' Cats (7.50 minutes 16 Jan 1943)
Jerry is besieged by both Tom and an orange cat (Meathead, in his first screen role). Jerry plays off both cats into fighting each other and makes his escape.
3.-Baby Puss (7.51 minutes 25 Dec 1943)
Tom is forced to play baby for a little girl. Jerry laughs at him and Tom gives chase and kicks him out the room. Jerry brings in three alley cats who in turn have a little fun with "baby" Tom. They before a Carmen Miranda-sh rendition of "mam, You Quiero." The little girl returns, the ally cats run away and Tom is punished with a dose of castor oil. Jerry doesn't escape the castor oil punishment either.
4.-The Zoot Cat (7.03 minutes 26 Feb 1944)
Tom tries to woo his girlfriend with a zoot suit made from a hammock. However, Jerry ends up with the suit and the girl in the end.
5.-The Million Dollar Cat (7.10 minutes 6 May 1944)
Tom inherits a million dollars from a relative, but the stipulation in the will is that he "refrain from harming any living creature, including even a mouse." Jerry takes full advantage of this, who constantly reminds Tom of the condition in the will. Eventually, Jerry pushes Tom too far. Tom tears up the will and then tears into Jerry, throwing away a million bucks.
6.- The Bodyguard (7.21 Minutes 22 July 1944)
Jerry frees Spike from the city pound truck. Spike promises that if Jerry ever needs anything to "just whistle". Jerry whistles, Tom gets crushed, we laugh.
7.-Mouse Trouble (7.21 minutes 23 Nov 1944)
Tom is reading the book, "How to Catch a Mouse". Tom uses every trick in that book, but Jerry is too smart for that.
8.-Tee For Two (7.00 minutes 21 July 1945)
On the golf course, Tom uses Jerry for a tee, and the fun begins. They make a boring sport, fun!
9.-Flirty Birdy (7.13 minutes 22 Sept 1945)
Just as Tom is about to eat a Jerry sandwhich, a hawk swoops down and takes it away to have for himself. Tom disguises himself as a lady hawk to get his sandwhich back, but the hawk falls for him. Tom can't get rid of the lovestruck bird.
10.-Quiet Please (7.43 minutes 22 Dec 1945)
Tom pursues Jerry into a sleeping Spike. Spike warns Tom that if he makes one little noise, he'll skin Tom alive. Jerry takes the cue and makes every effort to wake the dog. Jerry succeeds with a firecracker, Tom ends up bandaged head to toe rocking a sleeping Spike.
11.-The Milky Waif (7.58 minutes 18 May 1946)
When baby mouse Nibbles (screen debut) is abandoned on Jerry's doorstep, it spells trouble for both Tom and Jerry. Nibbles show's his mettle when he protects Jerry with a frying pan to Tom's face. Jerry shows his heart when rushes to the rescue after Tom hits Nibbles with a flyswatter.
12.-Solid Serenade (7.21 minutes 31 Mar 1946)
Tom brings along his bass fiddle to seranade his girlfriend, but Spike is in the yard. Tying up Spike he proceeds to woo his girlfriend with "Is you Is". He is hampered in his wooing by a music loving mouse name Jerry.
13.-Cat Fishin' (7.54 minutes 22 Feb 1947)
On a fishing trip, Tom uses Jerry for bait. Jerry is not to happy about this and uses Spike to get back at Tom.
14.-The Cat Concerto (7.49 minutes 26 Apr 1947)
Tom is the snooty piano player. Jerry is the music loving mouse that sleeps in the piano. Tom plays Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 while Jerry listens. Tom starts pushing Jerry around and then Jerry ends up finishing the concert and receiving the applause.
15.-Kitty Foiled (7.20 minutes 1 Jun 1948)
Jerry teams up wiht a canary to fight off Tom. Trains and bowling balls join in the fray.
16.-The Truce Hurts (7.59 minutes 17 July 1948)
Spike decides to make amends with Tom and Jerry, but the peace falls apart when they fight over a juicy steak.
17.-Salt Water Tabby (7.16 minutes 12 July 1947)
Tom trys to woo a girl at the beach. Jerry interupts the wooing. Tom is not too happy and he begins to chase Jerry all over the beach. In the end, Jerry sails away with the picnic basket.
18.-The Invisible Mouse (8.42 minutes 27 Sept 1947)
Jerry is being chased by Tom and ends up in a bottle of invisible ink. He discovers that he can't be seen and proceeds to use it towards his advantage. In the end he whacks Spike with a golf club and leaves Tom to take the blame.
19.-Heavenly Puss (7.48 minutes 9 July 1949)
Tom tries to gain entrance to the pearly gates but is turned away unless he can obtain a certificate of forgiveness from Jerry with an hour. Tom find it is more difficult than would seem.
20.-The Little Orphan (7.50 minutes 30 April 1949)
Jerry kindly invites orphan Nibbles to Thanksgiving Dinner. The two join forces to thwart Tom and have a peaceful dinner all together.DVD-2:
1.-Texas Tom (6.34 minutes 11 Mar 1950)
Again a women gets the attention of Tom. Tom enlists an unwilling Jerry's help who promptly tries to interupts the wooing with a bull.
2.-Jerry and the Lion (7.13 minutes 8 Apr 1950)
Jerry hides an escaped lion in the house, while Tom is on the hunt for the lion to get the huge reward. Jerry then sees the lion off on the S.S. Africa, tearfully waving goodbye.
3.-Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl (7.22 minutes 17 Sept 1950)
Tom is conducting an all cat orchestra to the overture to "Die Fledermaus". Jerry wants to conduct as well, but Tom will have none of that. Jerry retaliates and Tom ends up playing the rest of the overture solo with Jerry conduting.
4.-Jerry and the Goldfish (7.21 minutes 3 Mar 1951)
Tom tries to cook Goldy, the goldfish. Jerry is on hand to rescue his fishy friend from chef Tom
5.-Cue Ball Cat (7.02 minutes 25 Nov 1950)
A riotous game of pool results when Tom wakes Jerry from a nap in the pool table. Never wake up a sleeping mouse.
6.-Slicked-up Pup (6.19 minutes 8 Sept 1951)
Butch (Spike the bulldog) has just bathed Pup (Tyke) when Tom accidentally get the little dog muddy. Dad is not happy and orders Tom to clean Pup or else. Jerry "helps" with the cleaning and Tom ends up in the washing machine.
7.-Jerry's Cousin (6.39 minutes 7 Apr 1951)
Muscles, Jerry's cat-curdling cousing, arrives to help get Tom under control. Muscles is a mean streets mouse, and more than a match for Tom. When his muscle building regime doesn't work, Tom calls in his alley cat friends, "Dirty Work, Inc." to rid the house of Muscles. But Muscles evicts the alley cats and Tom surrenders to the might of this mouse.
8.-Cat Napping (6.52 minutes 8 Dec 1951)
A lazy afternoon, a cool class of lemonade, and Jerry napping in a hammock - until Tom wants it. A battle ensues over the hammock with Spike, a frog, and an army of ants joining in.
9.-The Flying Cat (6.44 minutes 12 Jan 1952)
Jerry and a canary save one another from Tom and take refuge in the Canary's birdhouse. Tom fashoins a piar of wings from a girdle and flies after the Canary and Jerry.
10.-The Two Mouseketeers (7.21 minutes 15 Mar 1952)
Given the responsibilities, by the tyrannical King, of guarding the grand banquet table, Tom is confronted by the sudden appearance of Jerry and Tuffy (Nibbles), the Mouseketeers. But the mice outwitt the guard, turning the table into a battle field.
11.-Smitten Kitten (7.49 minutes 12 Apr 1952)
Another flashback cartoon, this time it's Jerry with the flashbacks. All involving Tom and his women.
12.-Johann Mouse (7.57 minutes 21 Mar 1953)
In the house of Johann Strauss is little Johann Mouse, who love to waltz. Every time Strauss played, the mouse would dance. And when the mouse danced, the cat chased.
13.-Baby Butch (7.09 minutes 14 Mar 1954)
Butch (Meathead) dresses as a baby and leaves himself on Tom's Doorstp as a meand of gaining entry to the refridgerator. Jerry teams up with Tom to foil the sham baby's plot.
14.-Two Little Indians (6.49 minutes 17 Oct 1953)
Scoutmaster Jerry has his hands full with two little orphans from the Bide a Wee Mouse Home. Outfitted in Indian feathers and diapers , the two involve Jerry and the sleeping Spike in a hair-raising battle with Tom.
15.-Mice Follies (6.49 minutes 4 Sept 1954)
Jerry and Tuffy (Nibbles) turn the kitchen floor into a ice skating rink.
16.-Designs on Jerry (6.39 minutes 2 Sept 1955)
Tom designs the ultimate mousetrap. But the blueprint mouse comes to life to help Jerry out of the trap.
17.-Pecos Pest (6.35 minutes 11 Nov 1955)
Jerry's Uncle Pecos spends the evening with his nephew just before a scheduled TV appearance. His guitar string is always snapping and it's always Tom's wiskers that get pulled to replace them.
18.-Touche Pussy Cat (6.45 minutes 18 Dec 1954)
Tuffy's father sends him to Jerry for mouseketeer training. He fails miserable and destroys Jerry's place in the process. However, he gains the mouseketteer title when he thwarts Tom.
19.-The Flying Sorceress (6.40 minutes 27 Jan 1956)
Tom unsupectingly takes a new job with a witch. He steals her flying broom to return home and scare the wits out of Jerry.

Samurai Jack - The Premiere Movie (2001) Review

(More customer reviews)This dvd isn't so bad; but it's just the first 3 episodes of Season 1. The 'never seen before episode' is the 11th episode (the one with the Scottsman on the bridge), which is also on the Season 1 dvd. It's disappointing that they don't tell you that on the description anywhere, so for any of you who planned on getting both this and the Season 1 set - just get the Season 1 set by itself.
Otherwise, this is a fine intro to Samurai Jack and is worth watching. I would rate the disc 4.5 out of 5 on its own.

Transformers Animated: Season Two (2009) Review

I was there at the dawn of the G1 Series, and have seen almost every other (Japanese) Transformer series that followed, including the very bad attempts at adapting a few of these series for the U.S. Though none of these series were on par with even the slowest/silliest G1 Episodes! Beast Wars, & Transformers: Armada were fun, for the most part and had some of the "spirit" of the G1 series, but weren't quite there. Now we have the newest series: Transformers Animated. I saw some of the early designs for the "new" versions of the classic characters at the San Diego ComicCon a few years ago, and thought that they might be a little too cartoony, but they still looked kind of cool. Although, I still cannot stand Optimus Prime with a mouth!!! Anyway, I started watching this series with my nephews, and found myself really enjoying the stories (simple as they are), and the animation as well. The first season is good, and the second season is a bit better. So, if you haven't watched any of this series, please give it a try. You might enjoy it more than you think you would!

Felix The Cat (Collector's Edition) (1958) Review

(More customer reviews)If you long for seeing anything about Felix the Cat, this CD is for you. Otherwise, if you're expecting a true "Collector's Edition," don't waste your time and don't waste your money.
Given that this was a DVD, I was expecting to see several classic episodes from Felix the Cat. Instead, this DVD only contained one hour (or ten episodes) from the series. DVDs can hold at least two hoursr of material.... this was a great disappointment!
I was really disappointed because many of the things that made the series special were missing:
* no va-va-voom!
* only two five minute episodes with the magic bag
* only one episode with Master Cylinder
* only two five minute episodes with Rock Bottom
* only one and a half episodes with Poindexter
This is not a "Collector's Edition." It's just a random set of episodes that someone put together to make a quick buck.

(More customer reviews)I was a fan of the original series when I was younger (and me being a dork I still am), and this series is fine for kids, but for anime lovers I would recommend saving your money. The dub sounds lazy, there's no original japanese track on it, and don't even get me started on the editing. Overall this was released and meant to pass as a children's cartoon, not an anime. If you're a fan of the original digimon series looking for a walk down memory lane look elsewhere.

A: That was our first show on TV, Dave.
D: I still remember your first single. It was "The Chipmunk Song", also known as "Christmas Don't Be Late" in 1958 on Liberty Records. You were named after three of the executives there. But TV fame came when you got your first TV show in 1961, and on evening prime time on CBS. The folks at Format Films gave you a great, modernistic, stylized look. They were renegades from UPA Studios, as were so many of the artists and animators working in late '50s and early '60s TV.
A: The next season we moved to Saturday morning and kids kept us there for five years.
D: That was amazing since there were only 26 episodes, but they kept rerunning them as they were so popular.
A: Then in 1979, the show was rerun on the Saturday line-up on NBC, we had so many fans.
D: Do you remember why you were so popular? A radio DJ played a speeded-up punk song, and the next year, we recorded an album of Chipmunk Punk. That, and Urban Chipmunk, the next album, both went platinum.
A: And we made a Christmas special in 1981, and returned with a new show, "Alvin and the Chipmunks" in 1983 on NBC. Notice I have starring billing.
D: Or you did until 1988, when it was retitled, "The Chipmunks".
A: Now we're releasing it all on DVD to keep up with the demand from the fans.
D: Yes, the only show not on DVD was the original "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Fans got to see it when it was shown on Nick in 1994, and on the wonderful show, Weinerville on Nick. Did I spell that right? Anyway, your fans beseiged Viacom to release it on DVD. And here it is, all 26 episodes.
A: Uh Dave.
D: What is it Alvin?
A: It might not be quite 26.
D: Good point, Alvin. You probably couldn't get all 26 episodes on one DVD, and the studio might want to test viewer response before releasing a complete set. How many on this volume? Ten? Twelve?
A: Uh, we thought we'd put one of the later shows on to show how we've changed.
D: Grown up, I hope. There are already lots of the later shows on DVD. What episode did you choose?
A: A Chipmunk Reunion.
D: Good choice. That was shown as a half hour special on NBC in 1985. But it would fit better with the '80s cartoons.
A: We also included a video of our different styles through the ages, and the different kinds of music we've done. I'm the star.
D: Fans do like bonus features. How many episodes of The Alvin Show did you actually include?
A: Uh, one.
D: One? You only included one episode? The title on the cover is "The Very First Alvin Show". Fans will think it's the whole series, or at least a few episodes from your first TV series.
A: It is the first show, the one with Stanley the Eagle.
D: Fans have been waiting for this show and you only gave them one episode? Get over to Viacom and tell them fans want all 26 episodes on DVD. Allllviiiiiiin!!!!!

Freakazoid - The Complete First Season (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)If you're a fan of the spontaneous humor of the Animaniacs, then you'll love this show. Dexter Douglas uses the power of cyberspace to become the superhero Freakazoid (this was in the early days of the internet, so it seemed like a mysterious thing at the time). Unfortunately, Freakazoid isn't your normal superhero. Yes, he has superpowers (the funniest being when he flies by stretching his arms out and making wind noises as he runs around). Yes, he has supervillains. But he's not Batman by any means! He's fun and frantic and full of humor.
Each episode usually had one skit running throughout the show, with tiny sketches built into it like little commercial breaks. One of the best was "Frenching with Freakazoid", in which he would teach a French phrase. Most of them wouldn't be something you'd use in a normal conversation however ("Who cut the cheese?"). The frenetic pace of the show keeps it from being boring, and I'm so glad to see it finally make it to disc.
Superman has Lex Luthor, Batman has the Joker, and Freakazoid has Mo-Ron (yep, just like it sounds). Like I said earlier, if you're a fan of Animaniacs and Pinky & The Brain, this show will be a perfect fit for you. Never boring!

I can't wait until it comes out because I will definitely buy it. If you're not sure which episodes are on the First Season, or forgot what they're about, here they are:
1. Cartman Gets An Anal Probe - 13-Aug-1997
Brief Plot: The boys rescue Kyle's little brother from aliens who have come to South Park.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Volume One (2000) Review

(More customer reviews)This is my current favorite DVD series. It's so absurd a premise and so beyond the pale of most cartoon series out there these days, that it has infinite appeal to both my sixteen year old son and to me. Our dynamic trio and their next door Jersey neighbor, the tank top wearing Carl, are the funniest toon characters in Television land. That's saying a lot as television is currently witnessing a true renaissance of cartoon humor.
The creators are the same crew that brought us the equally silly, but cutting edge SPACEGHOST COAST TO COAST. The same sort of hip, off colour humor that informed that show is at play here, only more so. My favorite segment involves a manic depressive, deadbeat, suicidal doll who has a negative, lifeforce-draining impact on all who come in contact with him. Other highlights include a pair of aliens who look as if they've escaped from some crude '70s Atari game. The punk talking little alien, err, is particularly amusing.
Of the three main characters, my favorite is Meatwad, the mush mouthed, single toothed meatball, whose speech is almost unintelligble, but who is delightfully, stupidly impressionable.
If you're in the mood for some absolutely mindless, but hysterically hip comic relief, give this DVD set a try. The extras aren't that much to write home about, but no contemporary toon buff should be without this two disc set in his/her collection.
If you have a sensibilty that is as warped as mine is, and you enjoy The Simpsons, South Park, Beavis and Butthead, The Family Guy, etc., I'm certain that you will enjoy this anti-superhero trio.

(More customer reviews)Hopefully, you see this before paying the rip-off prices that third party sellers are posting. Yes, this DVD set is out of print, BUT Sony WILL BE RELEASING THEM IN THE FUTURE. I asked Rhino Video what happened through their Q&A person, Dr. Rhino. Here is the response:

Rhino's deal with Sunbow, the licensor of Transformers, GI Joe and Jem, has expired. Sony Music has acquired them and will reissue these titles at some point.

Transformers: Season One (Collector's Edition) (1984) Review

(More customer reviews)I thought about ordering this DVD set for some time but had held off. I thought it was rather pricey. Along came by birthday, though, and I decided to buy myself a little something....
I forgot how good this show really was. It was incredibly loyal to the each of the characters and everything at this point. The voice actors are an all star cast as well.
The remastering job was very good when you consider what they had to work with to start. They cleaned up a lot of noise and dirt off of the film and made the colors a lot more vivid and clear. There are some occasional sound effects added, but they are not intrustive and not that frequent, really. A couple of scenes in "Heavy Metal War", the last episode on the disc, turned out pretty poor, but otherwise they did an awesome job restoring this first season run, even including the original opening of the show and the commercial bumpers.
I am still annoyed by the constant coloring mistakes made by the original animators of the show. I guess it's part of the charm, and it's probably best that Rhino left them like they were. I remember these coloring mistakes in the original series just as well, and it even bothered me back then in 1984-85 that Sunbow couldn't seem to tell the difference between Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp most of the time (though as the series goes on past the first 5 or 6, they DO get better about it...save for the part in Heavy Metal War where there are two Starscreams side by side, one of which was supposed to be Skywarp).
I wish Rhino would take out the stupid cartoon openings on their videos and DVDs, though. While I know they are mostly a children's video company, with things like Transformers and GI Joe, they are mostly catering to adults...adults who don't want to sit through a cartoon rhino dressed like Elvis at the start of each disc while we wait for the menu to appear.
Overall, if you grew up with this original series of Transformers, as I did, you will very much enjoy this set. I enjoyed every minute of it, and can hardly wait until late November now, where Rhino releases the first half of Season 2 in a box set. The second half of Season 2 follows in the Spring.
So if you are waiting like I did, stop waiting now. After watching this, I felt like a kid again, and you will too.

G.I. Joe: Resolute (Widescreen) (2009) Review

(More customer reviews)G.I. Joe: Resolute first aired in 7-minute installments on Cartoon Network's [adult swim] in the summer of 2009. For adult fans of the 1980s cartoon series this is as close to perfection as an animated Joe feature can get. The animation style has a much more sleek and anime feel to it, but these are still the same characters and it's set in the same "universe" as the 1980s cartoon. "Resolute" has all the classic characters (Baroness, Destro, Cobra Commander, Duke, Snake Eyes, Stormshadow, Scarlett, etc.) from the '80s cartoon, but it treats them with a PG-13 rather than a "Saturday Morning" sensibility. There are bullets and blood and death.
The plot centers on another attempt by Cobra Commander to overtake the world and the Joes rallying to stop him. The highpoint of the film for me included the ultimate battle between Snake Eyes and Stormshadow I always dreamed of as a kid. If the 2009 feature film had half of the energy and emotion as this one fight alone it would've been an infintely more enjoyable film. Bottomline is if you were a 1980s Joe fan and found the live-action film lacking then you will be pleasantly shocked and awed by this outstanding animated feature.

(More customer reviews)I'm 28 and I love this cartoon. It's corny and at times it's pretty stupid but the pure ridiculousness of it is what makes it so entertaining. I love the concept of 2x4 technology and having guns that shoot condiments, ice cream, gum balls etc... is classic! Not to mention the robots and other vehicles that are made of everyday things like carousels, cars, school lockers, and even a chimney! Codname KND puts a great spin on the action cartoons of the twenty first century. No blood, no guts - just plain fun and gags that can be appreciated by children of all ages. Also, the constant spoofs on classic movies; Robin Hood, Star Wars, Terminator, etc... is entertaining to adults who watch with their children (or by themselves!) I'm a lifelong lover of cartoons and although I really didn't like Codename KND the first few times I watched it I eventually came to love it and now watch it every chance I get. I've also converted a few of my adult cartoon loving friends into fans.
As for the animation style - it's true that the characters are drawn pretty amusingly. They look like pencils with apples stuck on them for heads, hands and feet but instead of complaining about the style take it for what it is. The entire cartoon is a spoof and the way it's drawn emphasizes that.
A comment on the accents of the characters; While reading through other reviews I noticed many complaints on how fake the British accent of Numbah One sounds. As stated in the previous paragraph - this is a spoof and how much more ridiculous would Numbah One sound if he had been voiced by someone with a real British accent? Could you seriously imagine Hugh Laurie reading the part? I believe that a real British accent would get even more complaints and besides, if you actually watched the cartoon you'd realize that neither of Numbah One's parents have an accent which would clue you in - he's just a kid trying to be cool as so many kids do. I've never heard a convincing accent come out of a child's mouth without extensive training. And to bash on Numbah Four's accent, calling it a bad British accent, is further proof that you don't watch the show. Numbah Four is Australian.
The characters all have distinct personalities and their individuality is part of what makes them so fun. Watching this cartoon takes me back to my own childhood, back when cartoons were only on Saturday morning and for an hour or two after school. Back before Nintendo and Xbox... When our imagination was all we had and we used it to the point of frying our brains. Today's youth can't always appreciate a cartoon like Codename KND because they can't necessarily relate. If you don't like it that's okay and feel free to trash it all you want, that's your right and I recognize your right. We all have different opinions and I love that amazon gives us the ability to share our opinions. Don't use these review spaces to put down the other reviewers though - that is immature and unnecessary. Who cares if someone misspells a word? I'm sure that I've misspelled quite a few words in my own review! Also, if someone writes a review that you don't agree with don't trash the person, just write your own review and leave it alone. Allow the consumer to make the choice don't try to sway them to your way of thinking. The purpose of these reviews is to share your opinion of the item in question with the intent of informing people of what it is they're considering purchasing.
I love Codename KND and I reccomend this cartoon to cartoon lovers everywhere!

That's because the "original" Jetsons, which debuted Sept. 23, 1962, lasted for only one season on ABC, but became much more successful when it eventually ended up in syndication. (Those episodes have already been released on DVD. The Jetsons - The Complete First Season)
That successful syndication led to a brief revival in 1985 with all-new episodes. The new series, referred to as `Season Two,' boasted more advanced animation, which had richer color, along with attempts to add content to make it seem even more futuristic than its parent show.
The first 21 Episodes from 1985's `Season Two,' have been collected here for the time in this three-disc boxed set from Warner Home Video. Jetsons-Season 2 V01
In addition, a special featurette, `Jetsons: Return to the Future,' is also included that focuses on the evolution of the series. Among those interviewed is animation expert Mark Evanier.
`The Jetsons' was originally conceived following the iconic success of Hanna-Barbera's `The Flintstones,' which featured a `modern' Stone Age family. Hanna-Barbera decided to turn their Bedrock success on its ear, creating a similar family cartoon, but changed the setting to their vision of the Space Age - the 21st century!
The Jetsons originally lived Orbit City, a city where the houses were literally way, way up in the air, like Space Age needles. The family included George, his wife, Jane, and their children Judy and Elroy, along with their beloved dog, Astro. A very sweet robot housekeeper, Rosie, equipped with an unexpected personality, soon joined the family.
So, the Jetsons lived the `average' life in Hanna-Barbera's future, which incorporated flying space cars, instant transport tubes, various robots and a host of other bizarre gadgets to make their lives a breeze. But, the wonderful thing about The Jetsons was that, regardless of the technology, their problems were the same ones faced by families of all ages.
In the original `Season One,' George worked at Spacely Space Sprockets, run by his pint-sized, ill-tempered boss, Cosmo S. Spacely. In `Season Two,' new characters were introduced, including a a second pet for the Jetsons named Orbitty, whose spring-like legs and suction cup feet enabled him to suspend himself on anything and in any direction. Orbitty is also able to change color to reflect his emotions.
The `Season Two' episodes collected here, along with the second-half of the 1985 episodes yet to be released, also aired in syndication, and generated the same level of success as the original episodes had. As a result, a second revival occurred, leading to 10 more episodes, referred to as `Season Three,' finalizing the episode series in 1987!
In addition, `The Jetsons' prompted two TV movies: The music-themed `Rockin' with Judy Jetson,' and then a true Hanna-Barbera crossover, `The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones.'
In 1989, `The Jetsons: the Movie' hit the big screen with its only film, which depicted the finale of the entire series. An important note, this movie is being released on DVD for the first time from Universal Studios. The Jetsons: The Movie It's being dedicated to the memories of George O'Hanlon, the voice of George Jetston, and Mel Blanc, THE master voice animator, who was also the voice of Mr. Spacely. Ironically, this movie was the final voice project for both men.
The 21 episodes in this DVD boxed set from `Season Two' are: Elroy Meets Orbitty; Rosie Come Home; Solar Snoops; Judy's Birthday Surprise; Super George; Family Fallout; S.M.A.S.H.; The Mirrormorph; Mother's Day for Rosie; Jetsons' Millions; Fugitive Fleas; Rip-Off Rosie; Far-Out Father; Astro's Big Moment; The Cosmic Courtship of George and Jane; Fantasy Planet; S'no Relative; Instant Replay; Haunted Halloween; Future Tense; and The Wrong Stuff.
We fans can only hope that after all of this time, the remainder of `Season Two,' and the 10 episodes comprising the final `Season Three,' will be released onto DVD very, very soon!

The Flintstones - The Complete Sixth Season (1960) Review

(More customer reviews)This was the last season of The Flintstones. Up until The Simpsons, no other animated primetime TV show surpassed it in seasons. Here for the last time, Fred (Alan Reed) comes home from work, gathers Wilma, Pebbles (both by Jean Vanderpyl) and Dino (Mel Blanc) into the Flintmobile, later picking up Barney (Blanc), Betty (Gerry Johnson) and Bamm Bamm (Don Messick) from 1965 to 1966. Other characters include the Hopparoo (Messick), the crotchety Mr. Slate (John Stephenson) and a new character called the Great Gazoo (Harvey Korman). Well-meaning but inept and a little nuts, he was rescued by Fred and Barney and had to serve the "prehistoric dum-dums" as Gazoo often called them. This season has more guest voices than others including Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York (as Samantha and Darren in a crossover Bewitched episode), Jimmy O'Neill ("Howdy hi, there, shinrockers and wingading-dingers!"), Tony Curtis (as Stoney Curtis) and the Beau Brummels (as the Beau Brummel-stones). If you notice Barney's eyes look different, it's because the pupils are black. In previous seasons, Barney had flesh-colored pupils. Also, the swimming pool that Barney made in his backyard in the 1st season is back in the episode featuring Dripper the seal, as is the piano Fred purchased for his wife on their anniversary in the 1st season in the episode where Wilma has a date with an old flame, much to Fred's jealousy.
Episodes include Fred having a dream that Pebbles and Bamm Bamm have the gift of singing (even though they still can't talk) and have a big hit with "Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sunshine In" (this was the closing theme for some of the episodes)and Fred and Barney are thrilled with their children's success until they miss them being around, Wilma wins a contest and the prize is to meet handsome Stoney Curtis (Stoney even wins over the slightly jealous Fred when he generously offers Fred a role in his latest movie), Fred takes his family and the Rubbles to the local carnival and gets conned into buying it, Fred and Barney meet Gazoo and try explaining their little discovery to Wilma and Betty (their wives don't buy a word of it, but Pebbles and Bamm Bamm can see the space-aged genie), Fred has to serve on a jury and must decide the fate of a tough defendant (Henry Corden) which could come back to haunt him (subplot includes Barney buying Bamm Bamm a toy train which gets frequently tripped over), Gazoo grants the Flintstones and the Rubbles a chance to see the 21st century, Mr. Slate "generously" loans Fred and the family his yacht on the condition that Fred paint it, and Gazoo grants Fred the chance to switch jobs with Mr. Slate for a day and Fred soon learns the price his boss must pay for his stature, Wilma organizes a Bedrock production of Romeorock and Julietstone and Fred refuses to play the part of Romeorock (though he's a shoo-in). Other episodes include Fred buying a run-down house for his mother-in-law (Wilma thinks he's having an affair), Wilma meets up with an pompous old flame after Fred ditches her for a bowling game, Fred has a minor accident and unwittingly invents a new dance called the Frantic ("Yabba-dabba-dy-yi-yi!" is his cry of anguish and he wins a gig on Shinrock), at the Water Buffalo Costume Party, Fred gets mistaken for one of the Way-Outs, an English singing group rumored to be space aliens (those psuedo-cockney accents are a scream as is their song "We're gonna go way out- WAY OUT!"), Fred reads a relative's diary of war stories, at a company picnic, Fred acts obnoxious and has a dream he's still at the picnic 20 years later as an old man, Barney is mistaken for royalty and is kidnapped by Arabs to be their prince ("Ola-salima!") and in another episode, he's mistaken as a scientist and Stonefinger demands his latest "secret formula."
Though there'd be movies (A Man Called Flintstone, I Yabba Dabba Do and the dubious live-action movie), Christmas specials (albiet with the late Alan Reed's replacement Henry Corden), spinoffs (Pebbles and Bamm Bamm and Fred and Barney) and a breakfast cereal which sells to this day, nothing beat the original 6 seasons of the Flintstones. So get this when it finally comes out on DVD, as to phrase Mr. Flintstone from a classic episode "This is the last you'll see of the last of the [original] Flintstones!"

For those who leave no stone unturned, here's the sixth and final season of the greatest archeological dig in cartoon history. And its 26 episodes are treasure well worth excavating! Exploring every realm of popular parody, The Flintstones delighted kids but tickled adults even more with howlingly funny takeoffs of such "trendy" TV shows as Bewitched (with the voices of Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York in Samantha), award-winning movies (My Fair Freddy and The Treasure of Sierra Madrock) and kitschy spoofs of Hollywood royalty in Return of Stoney Curtis. The show's writers even had the foresight to project into the future, as in The Long Long Long Weekend, guest-starring the series' newest character, space alien Gazoo.
