(More customer reviews)This is a great instructional video but it really can't be classified as a "burlesque workout". The movements demonstrated are informative for developing a routine but if you are looking for a workout, this probably won't be it, primarily due to the order of presentation. There is good information on costumes, stage personas, even picking a name - but the poor production quality lowered my rating to a 4. Get this if you want to develop a burlesque dance routine but look elsewhere for calorie burning.

(More customer reviews)I own the original set, and really love them. These new ones are just not up to par. This one is especially disappointing. The moves feel like they're right out of the mid-90s, and the only full run-through of the combination with music is filmed more like a music video...complete with SLOW-MO scenes, meaning there is NO WAY to follow along with it! A total waste. And not at all a workout! NOT EVEN A WARM-UP! I love Carmen, but I doubt I'll ever use this DVD again, unless i'm trying to prove to a friend that it really is THAT bad...

(More customer reviews)I thought this movie was so boring. It was so trying to be Two can play that game, but nowhere near as good. The practically going straight to video should've been my cue, but alas I gave it a try on account of Vivica. I am very thankful that I did not buy it and only rented it. In my opinion it wasn't funny, it wasn't sexy yet it seemed like it was attempting to be a romantic comedy. I kid you not, the only part in the movie that I did laugh at was Ticia Arnold and the man she was with and the bloopers at the end. That's pretty bad. Trust me, save your money and your time.

Scary Movie (2000) Review

(More customer reviews)Scary Movie turned out what I thought it to be (a halirious movie with people getting killed off in wacky ways and silly parodies of recent horror movies) and what I didn't think it to be (showing ...ahem... small full frontal male nudity, and a major major gross scene). The Wayans have majorly beat the "There's Something About Mary" creators with the most gross-out jokes ever displayed in a movie. Anyway, Scary Movie was a good funny movie. The acting, for a parody, was great. And even though it followed Scream by every scene almost, there were other movies parodied and mentioned. For example: I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Matrix, American Pie, The Blair Witch Project, Amistad, Shakespeare in Love, Friday the 13th, and I even caught something that dealt with The Exorcist. And how they copied Tatum's death scene was hilarious. If I say anymore, I will give out what plot here is to the movie, so I'm going to stop. Go check it out!

(More customer reviews)This is such a fun dvd that gives you a great workout and an attitude adjustment! I have been blissfully enjoying this DVD - it makes me feel glamorous like a Pin-Up. I have been seeing Dita von Teese all over the news and am so excited that here is a DVD that teaches all her moves. Amazon wrote me the reminder email to send a review and I am so glad they did. I saw the other reviews about this dvd and I have to set the record straight: this is an AMAZING CARDIO WORKOUT!! I can't imagine that the people that said that it wasn't a workout even did the dvd! I begin to get warm during the first few sections: struts, grinds, bumps - feeling sculpting and a bit of a burn when we go into plie during some of the bumps. Then it goes into full cardio with shimmies & kicks & the routine. I can't imagine anyone not getting their heart rate going in these sections!! She teaches four different kinds of shimmies - and though I havent mastered the milkshake yet, it is fun to try! During the kicks section, she teaches Rockette- style kicks that make me out of breath!! As for the reviews that wanted bellydance...Dolphina says Burlesque originated from bellydance, but no where does this say it is a bellydance dvd...so what are they talking about?? In my opinion...this is a great dvd, providing a terrific workout, fun new moves I have never seen anywhere else and I feel that my attitude has changed when I finish...I am happy and light-hearted.

Good Burger (1997) Review

(More customer reviews)I own this film on VHS, DVD and even have the CD soundtrack (not to mention the poster on my wall!!). I suppose this is strange coming from a 22 year old rocker! It's the ultimate feel-good film and is always there for me when I'm feeling blue. I guess I'm quite obsessive over this flick, I think EVERYONE needs to own a copy.
