Sesame Street: Being Green (2009) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this DVD for my 2 1/2 year old cousin who adores Elmo and it was a great buy. The songs are very catchy and i cant help it but to sing along. We play it in the car, at home and every where we can. The video is very informative about "going green" but i think an older child would appreciate the message better. In addition to all of this, Elmo looks so adorable green!

Elmo and Abby find out it can be easy being green when they stumble onto the Earth-a-Thon, hosted by Mr. Earth (Paul Rudd), happening right on Sesame Street. Telly, Rosita, and Cookie Monster answer phone calls from children calling in with pledges to reduce, reuse, recycle (and possibly send cookies to Cookie). But what happens when Abby uses her magic to help Elmo be really "green"? This jam-packed DVD is filled with songs, ideas, and suggestions from real kids around the world!

Sesame Street - Elmocize (1996) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If Elmo were interviewed, and they asked him about "Elmocize," he'd have to make excuses. He was young... he didn't know what he was doing.
We own this tape as part of our VAST Sesame Street and Elmo collection, since our daughter loves the furry red monster with every ounce of her being. But I have to say that "Elmocize" is the absolute worst Elmo video out there (well, that we've found, anyway). The concept, getting kids to move to the beat, have fun, and exercise with Elmo, is a good one. However, this unfortunate tape was made at one of the low points (in my opinion) in Sesame Street history. The cast at the time was, er, less than talented. So, I have to agree with a previous reviewer--the poor girl who runs the dance studio couldn't sing her way out of a wet paper bag (I guess that's why she's a dancer!). It's not ALL her fault, though--the songs are really weak here! It starts with the insipid "Elmocize! Elmocize! Everybody . . . Elmocize!" Repeat, repeat, repeat. You'll be thinking "Elmocide! Elmocide! Somebody . . . commit Elmocide!" And we LOVE Elmo! Even the Sesame Street kids on the tape seem really, really bored--like they'd rather be studying multiplication. Put it this way--when and if our daughter ever gets to that "rip the tape out of the cassette for fun" stage, I hope this one's the first to go.

Best of Elmo's World DVD Collection Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 21-mo-old daughter is absolutely obsessed with Elmo, so this 3-pack was the best DVD investment we ever made. Each DVD has three episodes of "Elmo's World", each episode focusing on a different topic.
Topics are:
Disc 1 - Jackets, Hats and Shoes
Disc 2 - Birthdays, Games and Pets
Disc 3 - Flowers, Bananas and Hair
Anyone who has ever seen an episode of "Elmo's World" will know what to expect. Every episode has the same format, so the 'repitition' criticized in an earlier review shouldn't come as a surprise to a regular Elmo viewer. And, as each episode is at least 15 minutes long, I certainly wouldn't expect an active toddler to sit through the entire disc (nearly 50 minutes).
So, if your child is a fan of the "Elmo's World" segment at the end of every episode of Sesame Street, this collection is a must.
