We are thrilled that a new movie has been added to the series and our boys LOVE it.(ages 5 & 8) Even my 14 year old daughter said I could watch this over and over!! It really fits a great need for the younger current generation! The Engines do not look roght and they move very differently! Also the the opening where it says Thomas & Freinds-What??? That's not the song! Please I really am telling you DO NOT BUY THIS ONE! IT IS HORRIBLE:(!!

(More customer reviews)While "Beauty and the Beast" may have nominated for BEST Picture, "The Lion King" may have captured the world's attention, and "Aladdin" may have soared with a Robin Williams-voiced genie, "The Little Mermaid" still stands as the landmark film that brought Disney animation to the forefront.
The first of the studio's modern-day musicals, "The Little Mermaid" has it all: a feisty heroine, a faithful mentor/protector, a slightly off-center sidekick, a hunky leading man, a Godlike father, and a villain at the peak of wickedness.
The vocal performances by Jodi Benson ("Ariel"), Kenneth Mars ("King Triton"), Samuel E. Wright ("Sebastian"), Buddy Hackett ("Scuttle") and Pat Carroll ("Ursula") are, without a doubt, the best ever heard in a Disney film. Able-bodied vocal support is given by the always-dependable Rene Auberjoinois as a set-upon French chef.
The songs ("Under the Sea", "Part of Your World", "Poor Unfortunate Soul", "Kiss the Girl") are Broadway-worthy.
It's a shame that the film is not in circulation at the moment. It is truly one in need of remastering and "special edition" status with extras.

This is where the smaller, younger, and cuter versions of the notorious anime superheroines were tenderly brought into the world by a fatherly chemistry wizard, the square-jawed Professor Utonium and brought up at a local nursery school headed by the ever-cheery Ms. Keane. Now meet our very young crimefighting trio, Blossom the bossy redhead, Bubbles the overoptimistic little blonde who's always sprouting sunshine and smiling daisies, and Buttercup, the brunette sourpuss who happens to be my most favorite! Their biggest purpose in their whole lives is to stop the baddies like Mojo Jojo the deranged ape with a very twisted mind (and an overgrown brain to hold it!), Fuzzy Bumpkins, the people-hating, bug-faced country hermit, and ... (*shudder*) ... "him" from disrupting the peace of the world's most perfect city and all its happy, fun-loving inhabitants!
Here in this video, our innocent little Bubbles tries very hard to prove herself and her sisters that she can, too fight towering Japanese-style monsters just like them instead of just being a giggly featherbrain that needs to be left behind. And then the infamous Mojo Jojo steps in, unwittingly giving her one big whopper of a boost! Aw, come on and share such wonderful, magic-filled adventures with the tiniest princesses with the biggest and the most soulful orbs in the whole cartoon kingdom!

(More customer reviews)Let me begin with this caveat; I have no teenage daughter at home. I find this the most fun and refreshing thing I've seen in a long time, and probably for the very reasons "serious" critics find it silly or pedestrian: the movie embraces its cliches and campiness wholeheartedly and makes me laugh aloud each time I watch it (and I've watched it more times than I care to admit) and the songs are hummable and singable and delightful. I've listened to the soundtrack at least once a day since I got it from amazon, usually on my way to work because the songs put me in a good mood. I mean, who doesn't want to do one of those cool dance moves in the car when "Stick to the Status Quo" or "We're All in This Together" comes on? I do refrain. I love theatre, I love show music, and I love "High School Musical"!

Best of Elmo's World DVD Collection Review

(More customer reviews)My 21-mo-old daughter is absolutely obsessed with Elmo, so this 3-pack was the best DVD investment we ever made. Each DVD has three episodes of "Elmo's World", each episode focusing on a different topic.
Topics are:
Disc 1 - Jackets, Hats and Shoes
Disc 2 - Birthdays, Games and Pets
Disc 3 - Flowers, Bananas and Hair
Anyone who has ever seen an episode of "Elmo's World" will know what to expect. Every episode has the same format, so the 'repitition' criticized in an earlier review shouldn't come as a surprise to a regular Elmo viewer. And, as each episode is at least 15 minutes long, I certainly wouldn't expect an active toddler to sit through the entire disc (nearly 50 minutes).
So, if your child is a fan of the "Elmo's World" segment at the end of every episode of Sesame Street, this collection is a must.
