(More customer reviews)I am a parent who watches the Suite Life of Zack and Cody with my daughter occasionally. I have seen enough episodes to know that these are not the best picks that Disney could have released on DVD. The first episode has the boys at their youngest. The show is better in my opinion as the two boys get older. However, for a child, the battle of the bands idea is fun. London and Maddie are actually more intresting to watch in the earlier episodes, and it's always fun to see how London screws up even when she means well.
The second episode is when the boys run for class president. I liked the way Maddie and London get involved to help the boys. It was also nice to see Zack stand up for Cody at the end showing some family loyalty. I also liked the outrageous ideas that Zack and London came up with to get Zack elected. The pajama picture of Cody was a low blow but funny.
The last episode focuses on Maddie and London the most. Both girls throw sweet 16 parties for themselves on the same day. It forces the gang to pick which party to go to. As usual London over does it and makes a mess of things. The girls friendship gets strained, but ends up ok in the end.
Overall the episodes are just ok. I have seen better episodes on Disney channel. I also think Disney went cheap on this release. Three episodes is hardly worth the price of buying it. The extra features of the gag reel and Brenda Song doing the DVD game is ok. But personally I think Disney would have been better off putting a couple more episodes on the disc. After all thats why we really want to buy the DVD in the first place. Episodes that would have been better to add are the ones where the boys let the bugs loose in the tipton, or when Maddie and London have the fake baby for the weekend. Those stand out as funny episodes.
SO two stars is all I can give this release which skimped on the episodes and did'nt pick the best of the lot. If you really like Zack and Cody and want to get this release, try to by it online. Used and as cheap as possible. The taking over the Tipton release is better in my opinion and has more episodes.

(More customer reviews)"The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" has been a popular show on the Disney Channel for four years (2005-2008) and the series would be the show starring Cole and Dylan Sprouse as Zack and Cody, the two rambunctious children of single mother Carey (Kim Rhodes) who performed at the nightclub of the Tipton Hotel. The Tipton Hotel is managed by Mr. Moseby (Phil Lewis) and the show would focus on two storylines. One that dealt with Zack and Cody and the other that would deal with heiress London Tipton (Brenda Song) and candy counter girl Maddie (Ashley Tisdale).
After four years, it was time to give the series a reboot and thus the series "The Suite Life on Deck: Anchors Away!" began on Sept. 2008 and this time bringing the show to a luxury cruise ship. With hotel heiress London Tipton constantly trying to escape from her education, her father has decided to have London study on their luxury cruise ship. And to watch her once again is Mr. Moseby.
As Mr. Moseby has thought that things would be fine and the situation should be much easier on a luxury cruise ship, Carey has decided to enroll Zack and Cody for school on the luxury cruise ship as well, of course, to Mr. Moseby's dismay.
Joining both Zack, Cody and London on the cruise ship is the stowaway Bailey Pickett (Debby Ryan), a country girl who wanted to escape the country life and a few other characters such as Cody's flatulent roommate Woody (Matthew Timmons) and more!
Included on "The Suite Life on Deck: Anchors Away!" DVD are four episodes from the series. It's important that the episodes are not in broadcast order or in production order but you do get the first two episodes. Here is a spoiler-less summary of each episode:
1. EPISODE 1: THE SUITE LIFE SET SAIL - Zack, Cody and London get used to their new school life on the Tipton luxury cruise ship especially with their new roommates. But London can't stand being on the ship and will do whatever she can to escape.
2. EPISODE 2: PARROT ISLAND - Zack, Cody, Bailey and Woody go on a search for London.
3. EPISODE 4: THE KIDNEY OF THE SEA - Cody and London try to make a pig into a pet, while Zack meets a rich girl named Violet who he becomes smitten with.
4. EPISODE 13: MADDIE ON DECK - Maddie (Ashley Tisdale) visits the group on the cruise ship and a member of royalty has his eye on Maddie for marriage.
This DVD also contains two bonus episodes:
1. EPISODE 6: INTERNATIONAL DEADLINE - Cody tries to impress Bailey but gets caught up in a time loop (think "Groundhog Day") and relives a day in his life over and over again.
2. EPISODE 19: MULCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING - Bailey feels homesick and Cody decides to recreate a country-style festival to make her feel at home.

JUDGMENT CALL:
For fans of "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody", the popular comedy show continues with a different format with "The Suite Life on Deck". For me, as a father, my son absolutely loves the show for the crazy antics of the Sprouse twins but he and his friend are getting to the age where they are totally against shows spotlight on female characters and think they're the gross. So, needless to say, "The Suite Life on Deck" has been a show that he has been enjoying.
For the most part, on the parent's end of things, the show is fun and child-friendly. Granted, Zack and Cody are much older now and their attraction to girls are much more prominent with this series compared to "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" but for the most part, it's a show that will attract young children and young teens.
In this DVD "The Suite Life on Deck: Anchors Away!", I'm not sure how they choose what episodes go on each volume and why they're not episodic but I suppose, for those who wanted to see later episodes, especially the one that stars Maggie (Ashley Tisdale) can be happy that this DVD does include it. And for those who are interested in seeing how the show makes its transition to the luxury cruise liner, the good news is that the first two episodes are included on this DVD.
As for the DVD release, fans will be happy that they get a total of six episodes (including the two bonus episodes) and for its price, is definitely a great deal for fans of "The Suite Life" or its stars.

I'm a 15-year-old boy, and I have to tell you that a lot of Disney shows aren't as good as they used to be. I loved LIZZIE MCGUIRE and EVEN STEVENS. My number one fav was THE JERSEY! Now, the only 2 shows I can stand on Disney are THAT'S SO RAVEN and THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK AND CODY.
The only reason I actually watched this show was because I was obsessed with the film BIG DADDY (1999) starring Adam Sandler. And if you didn't know, young Julian (the boy Sandler adopts) is played by the Sprouse twins (Zack and Cody). Anyway, my younger brother was watching THE SUITE LIFE, and I saw the credits say "Dylan Sprouse - Cole Sprouse". So I decided to check it out.
REVIEW
I am ADDICTED now! The show is so funny and original it's impossible to not like it! You may have noticed that most Disney shows are extremely similar. In both LIZZIE MCGUIRE and THATS SO RAVEN, the main character has an annoying brother, and two friends (one boy and one girl). THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK AND CODY isn't like that. Most of the situations on the show are original and funny.
One of my favorite characters is London Tipton, the obvious spoof on Paris Hilton. London's father owns the Tipton hotel chain, and London isn't very bright, and is spoiled rotten! I think they captured Paris pretty well!
THE DVD
Ok, now about the DVD. This is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. These episodes are great, but there are other ones that I wish I had on DVD! I was however excited to see the "never before seen episode" on the DVD. However, DO NOT BUY THE DVD FOR THAT. Because in August, this episode will be aired on Disney. Just get your TiVo's ready instead of buying the DVD!
OVERALL
THE SUITE LIFE is an origial show on DISNEY CHANNEL, and does not disappoint. Even though the episode selection could be better, the show is still full of laughs and excitement! Enjoy these episodes, and if you decide not to buy, don't forget to watch THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK AND CODY on Disney Channel at 6;30 (5:30 central)!

(More customer reviews)I saw the premire of this movie and although it is girl likes jock, popular girl declares Jock hers and tries to kill girl socially. It was a really cute father daughter (or parent letting go) movie. As a HS guaduite, I thought this was a great movie to watch with my mom, and i was right. Shes been having seperation issues, like Ashley's Dad, and it was a fun movie to watch and connect with. Even my teenage brother thought it was a hilarious movie, watching all the things Ashley has to go through. From phone punking her Dad to convincing an audience to pretend to be a DVD movie.
I thought it was a really good movie!
Great job Ash!
Oh one more thing I really liked about it is the main character stayed true to herself. She didnt let the guy use her.

(More customer reviews)This DVD contains 4 episodes of the Disney Channel series, "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody." The show is set in the Tipton Hotel in Boston. Regular characters include identical twins Zack and Cody (Dylan and Cole Sprouse), hotel heiress London Tipton (Brenda Song), as well as candy counter girl Maddie (Ashley Tisdale), single mother Carey (Kim Rhodes), and the hotel's manager Mr. Mosbey (Phill Lewis). The four episodes featured on this DVD begin with: "Lip Synchin' In The Rain," which has the gang putting on their version of "High School Musical." Inside gag is that Ashley Tisdale starred in the actual HSM as Sharpay, however in "Zack & Cody," nobody sees that Maddie looks anything like Sharpay. Even though Maddie is the best singer and dancer, rival London gets the role of Sharpay because her dad is rich. Of course there is a happy ending and the gang works together to make the show a hit. #2 is "Arwin That Came To Dinner." Arwin is the hotel repairman/engineer who is distraught that his mother has moved out of the apartment that they share...and Arwin is clearly in his thirties. The twins and their mom help Arwin get over his mom fixation and find true love by converting his apartment into a cool bachelor pad. #3 is "Orchestra," which features a Russian Violin prodigy in the high school orchestra who comes between Cody and his girlfriend Barbra. 1970's blonde bombshell Susan Blakely has a role as the orchestra conductor, Mrs. Madigan. #4 is "A Tale of Two Houses." Zack & Cody's dad is back in town due to a play he is performing in. The twins scheme to crash his new apartment with their girlfriends while dad is working, and unbeknownst to them, they pick the same evening. 4 is a definitely a crowd, and even more people decide to drop in.
Extras include "Twin-Tastic," a featurette with the twins getting interviewed by Brenda Song (London), telling what it's like to be twins. No great revelations here, but it's still nice to see how natural the kids are what a nice rapport they have, even off camera. It is also interesting to hear about identical twins...the truths, the myths, and the entertaining stories that the boys share. A gag reel with bloopers and blunders is also included for good measure, as well as a number of Disney sneak Movie and DVD previews.
This show is definitely aimed at kids and teens and is thoroughly enjoyable; lots of physical humor and pratfalls, juvenile humor, and an ensemble cast that plays well together. Although Zack & Cody are obviously going through puberty (and trying to get the girls), there really aren't any scenes that would not be safe for kids to watch.

(More customer reviews)First I would like to say that this review is more targeted at the Blu-Ray transfer of this movie. When I first found out this movie was available on Blu-Ray I had to have it since it's one of my favorite movies. I already owned the DVD, and was happy with the quality of the video on my up-converting DVD player. I figured the Blu-Ray would have to look better since it advertised as HD 1080p. Unfortunately that was not the case; in fact the DVD looks better up-converted than the Blu-Ray does. How does that happen? It appears the studio did very little to prepare this film for Blu-Ray. If anything they made it worse by trying to doctor it up rather than spend the money to re-master it properly. The movie has a lot of dark scenes which are almost all grainy and not very detailed. The light scenes are not as noticeable but you can still see it unless you're sitting a good distance from your TV. I guess the point I'm trying to make would be to hang on to your DVD until they fix the Blu-Ray transfer. At the new price it's worth buying if you don't already have the DVD, but don't "up grade" to this from your DVD.

With each episode, Phineas and Ferb are both working on a project and each time, their sister Candace is always scheming to finally bust them. Meanwhile, the evil scientist Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is up to no good and Major Monogram and the secret agent Perry the Platypus (Agent P) are doing all they can to stop Doofenshmirtz.
With the Christmas holiday season around the corner, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is releasing "Phineas and Ferb: A Very Perry Christmas" featuring six episodes and plenty of special features.
"Phineas and Ferb: A Very Perry Christmas" comes with the following episodes. Included are:
* Phineas & Ferb Christmas Vacation (Season 2, Episode 84) - Dr. Doofenshmirtz wants to ruin the Christmas holiday for everyone. Meanwhile, the boys and their friends try to save Christmas.
* Interview with a Platypus (Season 2, Episode 49) - The boys build a device to find out if they can translate Perry's noises. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz wants to flood the Tri-State Area.

"Phineas and Ferb" is presented in widescreen (1:78:1) - enhanced for 16×9 televisions and is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and French and Spanish Language Tracks and subtitles.
"Phineas and Ferb" sports vibrant colors and for the most part, picture quality should be fine for the children. If anything, the series is known for its unique character design and for the most part, the animation is quite enjoyable to watch because it's quite different with the characters and their geometric shaped heads.
Dialogue and music are clear and are heard clearly through the front and center channels. Subtitles are in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
"Phineas and Ferb: A Very Perry Christmas" comes with:
* Phineas & Ferb's Virtual Fireplace - An animated virtual fireplace.

JUDGMENT CALL:
At our home, somehow "Phineas and Ferb" has become my 7-year-old son's favorite animated series. Every day he watches the show and interesting enough, I can hear both he and my wife singing the show's theme song and even my wife has talked about how she enjoys watching "Phines and Ferb" alongside with him.
As for me, I knew nothing about the show and I felt like a kid asking my son many questions of who is that character and that character and what is the plot of the series? So, this DVD was actually my first foray into the world of "Phineas & Ferb" and for my son, this DVD was in his words..."Awesome!".
Because truthfully, I just thought it was a special Christmas episode and then when that episode was done, there were five more episodes to watch. And then you get to the main menu and there are Easter Eggs hidden throughout the menu, special features and you get another bonus episode of "Phineas and Ferb", how cool is that?
Although, I may not have grasped the concept of why Phineas and Ferb's older sister Candace is trying to bust her little brothers or why there is a secret agent platypus, I realize that this series is beloved by many, and my young son and my wife are among that demographic who love this series so much that I hear them singing the theme song nearly daily.
The episodes I did watch were fun but of course, my son can probably give the best description of this DVD and he just had one word to describe this DVD and that was "awesome"!
As a parent, the episodes were safe and fun to watch and I have to admit, for a children's DVD, Disney has definitely released an impressive package with six episodes of "Phineas & Ferb" and many special features to go along with this entire DVD. I was very impressed by this DVD and I can definitely recommend this to parents or grandparents who want to keep their children entertained during the holiday season or a DVD for them to watch during those long holiday commutes.
Overall, this is a solid release of "Phineas and Ferb" which fans of the series can't go wrong with it and really, there is nothing I can even fault or say anything negative about because you get so much in this DVD release. For fans of "Phineas and Ferb", "Phineas and Ferb: A Very Perry Christmas", my son gives this DVD five stars and a very big "AWESOME!".

(More customer reviews)I just rented this dvd and it is way better than I expected! I only expected 5, 10 minute episodes and was surprised to find more episodes than that. The included episodes are:
1.The Fast and the Phineas

And a never before seen 2 part episode called One Good Scare Ought To Do It! Which is a really cool episode where Isabella has the hicupps and Phineas and Ferb build a hunted house to scare them out of her!!!The Dr.D and Perry the Platypus part of that episode is really funny and creative!The bonus features are really cool too, there is an Arcade with Phineas and Ferb themed games! There is also the original storyboard of "Rollercoaster". I highly suggest this DVD to any Phineas and Ferb fan!!!!!!!!!

High School Musical 2 (Extended Edition) (2007) Review

(More customer reviews)I was amazed by the amount of extras on this 2-Disc DVD set. What a fantastic set--with over 5 hours of bonus material. The story is typically light-hearted fun as you would expect from this franchise. It's the last day of school, and all your favorite East High Wildcats are counting down the seconds for the final bell that tells them it's finally summer! The rousing opening song is "What Time Is It?" and gets the movie off to a high energy start. Troy (Zac Efron), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), and the gang must get summer jobs; meanwhile, Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) wants to get Troy a job at her country club, Lava Springs, so that he can sing with her at the talent show and become her new boyfriend. Unbeknownst to her, the club's manager, Mr. Fulton (Mark L. Taylor), has to hire the entire gang to get Troy...including Troy's girlfriend Gabriella. Sharpay does everything she can to break the two up, including setting Zac up with a sweet college scholarship. Can Zac resist?
Visually, this movie is a technicolor feast that harks back to the Esther Williams/Busby Berkeley musicals of MGM. One of the most spectacular numbers if "Fabulous," sung by Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) as she lets everyone at the pool know that she has impossibly high standards. Her brother, played by Lucas Grabeel, is dolled up like Elton John and plays a pink piano in the shallow end of the pool while wearing a white tux with hot pink lapels. Definitely classic!
Spec-wise, the DVD audio is a speaker blowing Dolby Digital 5.1 mix and the video is full-frame. Sure, for those with 16x9 or widescreen TVs it's a disappointment. However, this movie was originally shown on the Disney Channel, and as you can clearly see in the behind-the-scenes documentaries (as you look over the shoulder of the camera and see the framing), this movie was COMPOSED for full-screen, even though there was spillover frame to fill out a widescreen. Minor quibbling point...still a great piece of entertainment suitable for ALL ages.
Now onto the extras...there's a ton! You get a great sneak-peak at High School Musical 3 (which will actually debut in theaters), which shows that the whole gang is back, along with three newcomers (looks like Sharpay may have some competition in the conniving department from the new girl). There are also some deleted scenes; although they were trimmed for the right reasons, one does explain a little bit of how Gabriela got to the Country Club for the talent show. Backstage Disney also gives you High School Confidential, an assortment of LOTS of featurettes such as:
*Manly the Dog: director Kenny Ortega's dog who has a featured spot in the movie as Sharpay's pampered pet.
*Sharpettes: Sharpay's sidekicks, featured in the "Fabulous" number
*Hilarious one about Ashley Tisdale; all her costars say she is like Sharpay, even though she protests. Very cute.
*Zac Factor: All about Zac Efron
*Special photo gallery where you can guess what baby photos match your fave HSM star.
*The Making Of "HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A."
*Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus is actually in HSM2; never knew that until I saw the featurette about her cameo!
*Cast Favorites: The stars dish (except for Zac who is not in this one) about their favorite singers, movie actors, desserts, and more.
*On Location - Visit the resort area of St. George, Utah
*In The Kitchen - Lucas Grabeel takes fans behind the scenes of the clubhouse kitchen set.

(More customer reviews)My almost 9 year-old son and I saw this together. It was VERY, VERY funny. We both thought so. (There were way too many male crotch gags, in my opinion, and of course, the law enforcement representative was an idiot. However, we didn't see his underwear; so, this movie was superior to other kid flicks.) Robert Hoffman is outrageously funny as Ricky the lying-loser boyfriend turned robot alien minion. Ashley Tisdale carries off another major role with credibility, humor, and grace. The DVD is already on my son's wish list for Christmas, and I will be recommending Aliens to my friends to watch with their kids. I will also recommend it to parents of teenage daughters who need a laugh, a break, or a reminder that Eddie Haskell didn't die with the Cleavers.

Phineas and Ferb: The Daze of Summer Review

(More customer reviews)Other than a penchant for inspired madness and mad scientists, there is no overt relation between Disney's "Phineas & Ferb" cartoon series and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. But you'll see a backstage connection if you read the credits at the end of the five two-cartoon episodes on the this new DVD, "The Daze of Summer," the second in the DVD series.
Comprised of shows selected from both seasons, almost every cartoon in the collection features a very impressive cast of voice actors and others known for their on-camera work. But series creators Jeff "Swampy" Marsh and Dan Povenmire (who also voices the neurotic, insecure Doofensmirtz) must be big-time Rocky Horror fans because the voice of P & F's clueless dad is none other than Richard O'Brien, one of the "Rocky Horror" creators as well as "Riff Raff" in "Rocky Horror" (and the Childcatcher in the London stage version of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"). Performing other voices in various shows are Rocky Horror alums Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick.
There are also many young actors from various Disney Channel TV series doing voices, most prominently "High School Musical's" Ashley Tisdale as the Dr. Bellows/Mrs. Kravitz-like Candice, the tattletale sister who is never believed my mom (Caroline Rhea). She even gets a solo song, "Queen of Mars," in a two-part episode. Other Disney Channel faves include Mitchel Musso, Alyson Stoner, Brenda Song and Brian Stepanek, as well as top Hollywood voice actors Corey Burton (narrating a film about platypuses) and Tom Kenny (best known as the voice of Spongebob).
Every episode of "Phineas & Ferb fulfills" the wishes of many pre-pubescent boys: it's always summer vacation, the two brothers can create practically anything, visit almost anywhere and always outwit their sister. There is always a parallel story in which their pet platypus, Perry, saves the world from destruction. Both plots usually somehow tie together. I know it doesn't make sense, but you have to see it to get it. The show's creative team really pulls off a rich, gag-filled maze of story in every show, which makes them fun to re-watch.

Candice's allergic reaction to parsnips gives her an "Audrey II" voice.
TOY TO THE WORLD
The boys create a new toy. There are references to Willy Wonka and searing, sad-but-true jabs at corporate "yessing."

The family takes a London vacation.
I, BROBOT
Phineas and Ferb create an army of Phinadroids and Ferbots.
IT'S A MUD, MUD, MUD, MUD, MUD WORLD
The brothers try to cheer up their sister with a monster truck show.
THE BALLAD OF BADBEARD
On a camping trip, the boys sail for adventure while Candice hallucinates after touching moss and becomes part of a Perry mission. (Parents note: Candice has the grooviest 60's-style psychedelic experience since Jackie Gleason in Skidoo.)
GREECE LIGHTNING
Candice is again compared to a hideous beast and Doofensmirtz unleashes an urbane robot monster named Norm.
LEAVE THE BUSTING TO US
Candice enlists a TV reality show crew to expose her brothers' latest creation: a theme park in the backyard.
UNFAIR SCIENCE FAIR / SCIENCE FAIR REDUX
Two carttoons edited together, with Candice eventutally being crowned Queen of Mars. A fitting finale.
The DVD also includes a series of interactive games themed to a science fair.
