SalsaCrazy Presents: Salsa Dance Workout and Fitness DVD Review

SalsaCrazy Presents: Salsa Dance Workout and Fitness DVD

Unfortunately this dvd is not upto the quality of other salsacrazy products. Neither is good to learn salsa nor as a workout routine.
The salsa steps are covered too briefly and only from the man point of view (so ladies can't learn their steps), but at the other side the steps you need to learn are too complex for a workout.
If you want to learn salsa get The complete salsa mastery from SalsaCrazy. For effective workout, get something else.

Dancing with the Stars: Latin Cardio Dance Review

Dancing with the Stars: Latin Cardio Dance
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I found this to be easy to follow, it is dancing, they do show you the moves, and your core DOES get a fantastic workout! Even doing only the warm up, one dance section, and the additional dancers workout at the end got my heart pumping and I was sweating up a storm! I love the fact that you can customize your working out by choosing which segments you want to do and it will play them seamlessly without you having to stop and push buttons!
Now for those with no musicality or rhythm, it may be harder for you to pick up and follow. I suggest just focusing on one segment until you master it. Watch the segment through a couple of times first then follow along and anytime it gets too complicated or you haven't mastered that step yet, just return to the basic step and keep trying till you get it.
And...you can take the steps you learn in this video, get with a partner and actually do them out on a dance floor! So, if you bought this video thinking you'll be able to apply what you learn on the dance floor, you can, but if you aren't a strong dancer and don't pick up choreography quick, try taking lessons from an instructor and use this video for practice.

Dancing with the Stars: Dance Off the Pounds (2009) Review

Dancing with the Stars: Dance Off the Pounds (2009)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
"Dancing with the Stars: Dance off the Pounds" is a workout DVD that was choreographed by Cal Pozo, the choreographer of the other DWTS DVDs as well as the Dancefit series. This was the best of his choreography that I've ever seen, and not only was it fun, but it was extremely cardio. There was no warm-up, therefore the viewer has to either do his own or just let the beginning of the workout act as the warm-up. As opposed to the former DWTS workouts, this DVD's dances are all routines instead of just moves taught. The DVD was divided into the following four parts of the workout:
Swing-Led by Kym Johnson, it is the most basic of all the routines. It includes moves such as the triple step, rock step, kick-ball-changes, sailor step, Charleston, and many more. It has a lot of kicking, and it will really get the heart rate up. Kym is very motivating, but she can be a little too sweet sometimes-almost like she's talking to a child. I really liked this segment.
Jive-Led by Lacey Schwimmer, I found this the most fun of all the routines. Lacey teaches the moves rather quickly and prefers going from the top a lot more than making sure you have the moves. She breaks down one really fast move that I am SO glad she broke down. Moves included are the triple step, kicks, Charleston, heel bop, jump step, and more. Lacey is very chirpy, but she really did say "Good job!" way too many times. This is my favorite segment, though!
Quickstep-Led by Dmitry Chaplin, this was the most challenging of all the routines. The moves were really fast and sometimes hard, but Dmitry broke most of them down really slowly which did make me wonder if my heart rate was going down, as well, but I just do the quickstep segment first and let the beginning low cardio segment count as my warm-up. There is lot of using the floor to move around and there are quite a few jumping steps, as well. Some of the moves included are the box step, pendulums, knee bops, shuffle hops, and many more. Dmitry was the most genuine of all the instructors, but he did have a little bit of difficulty explaining the moves. His jokes made me laugh, though. The most challenging footwork of them all.
Cool-Down-All of the instructors are here for the cooldown, and they each have turns leading you in stretching. Unfortunately, they don't stretch the entire body, they don't have a specific stretch for the calves, neck, glutes, or arms. But it does bring your heart rate down.
Overall, I definitely think it's worth $10, and it is most definitely better than "Cardio Dance" or "Latin Cardio Dance." Get it if you are a fan of the show, or if you want a great, old-school, cardio workout. Beware, though, if you are a beginner, you might not get the steps right away.

Dancing With the Stars - Cardio Dance (2006) Review

Dancing With the Stars - Cardio Dance (2006)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had high hopes for this video; too high, perhaps. As another reviewer stated, the moves do go pretty fast after Maksim's part. My biggest problem is that there are no real explainations or instructions of the steps, the instructors just say, we're going to do this now, toss in a dance term, and then they do it. I had such a hard time trying to figure out what the steps were by the time I sort of figured it out they had moved on. This workout would probably be a good workout, provided you understand the moves and can execute them at the speed the dancers on the video can. I found it to be too frustrating and will have to be desperate for some exercise before I pop this in the DVD player again.

I have to admit I have never cared for Michelle's workouts in the past. But, I love the For Dummies workouts so I decided I'd give this a chance. What a pleasant surprise! I love it! It is broken down into 2 sections. You can do one or both. Michelle is easy to follow and cues well. The music is good but not overbearing. I enjoy the tips presented in the dummies workouts. Michelle has just the right amount of enthusiasm and fun in this workout and it did get my heartrate up there. It will be a fun workout for a day when I want to move and do something but don't feel like killing myself. It's a keeper.

Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom Review

Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Drenched and happy. That's me after doing Julianne Hough's Cardio Ballroom for the first time today. (I was lucky enough to get an advance copy.) What a wonderful and challenging workout...and what a wonderful and adorable instructor! Julianne's directions are clear, easy to understand, and she builds her routines easily, cleanly, logically and so quickly that, before you know it, you feel like you're doing the cha-cha, jive and paso doble on Dancing with the Stars with her. I've done ballroom and latin dancing as an amateur and definitely recommend that everyone - even dancers - start by taking the private lesson first, before trying out the full workout, to become familiar with the basic movements and steps. Then, the first time you do the full workout, don't try to copy her every move immediately -- learn it gradually: get the "footwork" down first, then add the arms and then the styling as you become more comfortable with the choreography. This is a workout that you'll get better at and have more fun with each time you do it. Great warm up and cool down too. Best of all, when you work out with Julianne, you'll sweat profusely and you'll have a ball, but you won't feel like you're exercising. You're dancing. And if you love to dance, this is the workout for you.
