* Green Eggs and Ham: about Sam-I-Am and his never ending quest to make people sample the dish he loves best.
* The Sneetches: about a narrow-minded and prejudiced group of creatures who don't accept others who don't look exactly like them.
* The Zax: about two hardheaded and proud beings who waste a whole lifetime for not yielding the right of way.
* Grinch Night: about a courageous kid who faces the Grinch and saves his whole town from his malicious Halloween tricks and terrors. (A must see on Halloween night).
It also contains two wonderful sing-along songs: He Will Eat Them and Grinches Inches Closer.
Not only does this collection of cartoons contains the marvelous songs and poetry of Dr. Seuss, it is also a great way to teach kids about human values like open-mindedness, tolerance and acceptance, humility, courage and selflessness. They are filled with original art and are also very entertaining.
Buy this DVD for your kids and enjoy it with them. I would also recommend buying Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat and Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this DVD and was immensely disapointed with the quality of the transfer. The colors were all over he place with the Grinch appearing as a yellow, then brown and finally slightly green creature. The transfer is terrible. I would not recommend it to anyone based upon this poor quality.

(More customer reviews)If you remember the monkeys shouting "Boil That Dust speck" you might be disappointed with this video. It is not the original animated short you remember but in fact is a 94 remake. This is more accurately, "Dustin Hoffman reads Horton". Instead of real animation it is still pictures from the book with minor animation effects. My daughter still likes it, but it's not what I expected.

(More customer reviews)"Very well...I'm a punk!" Ah, the Cat in the Hat classic songs finally on durable DVD! Buyers out there beware! Remember that this 1971 version is the animated TV version that we all remember, while the 1972 version is essentially the book being read out loud with some pans and close ups of the original pages. I bought the 1972 version last Xmas and my mouth hung open watching the book in action. However, up, up, up with this version! All the songs are classics and take me back to the days when it was okay to leave the kids at home alone. A great, great story!

(More customer reviews)Not having seen the television version of Horton Hears a Who, I can't say whether this is better or not. But it's a perfect rendition on its own, and I found it thoroughly enjoyable---as did a 16-year-old with whom I saw the film yesterday.
There are marvelous Seuss-like characters animated on the screen, and their personalities match 100% those of the original two-dimensional Horton, Morton and friends who graced the pages of the good Dr.'s wonderful book.
My fondest memories of Horton include his egg-hatching episode. But that in no way diminishes the delight of seeing our old Elephant companion, dancing and prancing his way up a mountain side---through myriad obstacles---to a safe little cave where the Whos and their Whoville can safely reside.
Children young and old, including grandparent-variety kids, will love this delightful and colorful tale about sticking to one's highest goals, through thick and thin, and against the advice of all one's friends.

(More customer reviews)This serviceable DVD set contains the exceptional (Chuck Jones, Boris Karloff) "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" along with seven Rankin/Bass Christmas shows -- the '70s sequels to Rudolph and Frosty.
The true joy of this disk is the Grinch, which my kids watch over and over - much more than the (pretty good) Jim Carey movie.
The very same Grinch disc in this set is available separately --
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (50th Birthday Deluxe Remastered Edition). However, this 4-disc DVD set is only a few dollars more, with the assorted Rudolph & Frosty sequels. It's a very handsome bookshelf edition of four Christmas disks already separately published from the Warner Brothers library, three of them the Rankin/Bass sequels.
(If you want the original Rankin/Bass cartoons of Rudolph and Frosty, not the sequels, they're available on this terrific DVD: The Original Television Christmas Classics (Rudolph, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, Frosty and Frosty Returns, Little Drummer Boy, and Cricket on the Hearth).)

(More customer reviews)This is just another slap in the face to fans who grew up with these Rankin & Bass holiday classics! Fans of these specials have been wanting a complete box set done including all of these holiday gems, but instead we get a re-release of the same shows! Of course, we get 3 "never before available on DVD" specials only available on this set, so long time fans have to buy this set if they want the 3 new to DVD releases!?
To make matters worse 'Frosty and Rudolph's Christmas in July' is the same defective print where the voices are out of sync with the picture that was released a few years ago!
To make matters even worse than that, some copies have the wrong version of 'The Year Without A Santa Claus'!! I wish someone who cares about these films,, would pick up the ball and get these classic's done right!
Until then folks, I say leave this garbage in the bin and wait for someone who cares to release a proper set. Who wouldn't want a complete set of Rankin & Bass Holiday Classics totally restored?..... raise your hand!..............I thought so! :-D
