Katt Williams: American Hustle The Movie Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)When you watch American Hustle, get ready for an experience like now other. American Hustle is a meshing of a cinematic intro with the side-splitting comedy of Katt Williams and company. The feature starts with Katt getting ready for a important Hollywood meeting to discuss movie possibilities starring the up-and-coming superstar. He ultimately passes on the ridiculous movie pitches and ventures out back on the road with fellow comics Red, Luenell, and Melanie Camacho. The four comics and Katt's dog hit the road for 20-city, 40-show tour that eventually culminates to the final show in Chicago. And it is at this point that viewers are treated to the feature-length concert footage of Katt Williams. The DVD closes with Katt Williams sharing the stage and the mic with Chi-Town's own Da Brat and everybody's favorite honorary pimp Snoop Dogg.
Packaged as a theatrical comedy, American Hustle evolves mostly around Katt's stand-up, a routine that can basically be deemed Pimp Chronicles 2. The material is original and will have you laughing out loud. Although we are treated to a handful of stand-up scenes from Red, Luenell, and Melanie, it would have been nice to actually see more of their routine, if not their entire sets. But the material that we are treated to is nothing short of hilarious, with Luenell giving the funniest anecdotes of the three. And of course Katt's spin on life, love, and relationships is on par with everything else that the budding star has showcased, including its predecessor The Pimp Chronicles Part 1. With extended footage of the skit 'Brokebeak Penguins', and his spoof on the movie 300, and about a dozen outtakes, this DVD is unique in its presentation and captures the ingenious comedic styling of Katt Williams. Any fan of Katt Williams will not be disappointed with American Hustle.

Katt Williams: 9 Lives (2010) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I love Katt but this documentary was not the Katt I actually saw in concert after a deployment to Iraq. It was a compilation of all his past (life run-ins with the law and previous dvds). As long as you want to see what you already know or have already heard in the news, you'll be ok, other than that DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY (JUST LOOK AT HIS OLD DVDs).
Sorry Katt but I was truly disapponted in paying to see old material that is already on your other dvds!!!

Katt Williams: Live (2006) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you own The Pimp Chronicles Part 1 then you should avoid this. This had about 98% the exact same material performed in front of a different audience and in full screen. So I found it to be a waste of money. It's one thing for comedians to repeat a joke or two as a filler an to repeat the same material for new audience, but to release it twice? What a way to screw us out our money! So if you own The Pimp Chronicles Part 1, then this would be a waste of money, if you ask me. Either release, the comedy is hilarious and worthy of 5 stars but this specific DVD only gets 2 because it's the same. It's a waste of money if you have The Pimp Chronicles Part 1. But if don't have either, go with this one, as there are a couple extra and extended jokes.

Katt Williams, who got his big break as the scene-stealing, fast-talking pimp Money Mike in the film Friday After Next, currently plays "A Pimp Named Slickback" on the Adult Swim animated TV series The Boondocks and appears in MTV's Nick Cannon Presents: Wild `N Out. Not only is he one of today's fastest-rising actors, he's also one of the hottest comedians. Returning to his hometown of Cincinnati, Williams says and does exactly what he feels, provoking nonstop laughter on everything from sex, relationships and parenthood to his shattered L.A. illusions. Williams connects with his audience like few other comedians as he pimps out some street-savvy advice and outrageously funny observations.

(More customer reviews)Mike Epps is a comedian you can watch over and over again. This video also introduced Doug E Fresh at the beginning of the show which was great because he is an old school hip star who I love. If you like good comedy this is the one one for you.

(More customer reviews)This KATT, lol, is on fire... He is HILLARIOUS and his calm demeanor is extremely appealing... He has a very unique comedy style, EFFORTLESS!!!! He pulls laugh after laugh after laugh... It's hard to REVIEW comedians b/c everyone has a different take on what "FUNNY" is but I'll say this - if this KATT does not make you LAUGH - U are not ALIVE ON THE INSIDE!!! Cuz anyone who's breathing will find laughs in his comedy style and content... and PIMP-INSPIRED Style and Attitude!! Very much a man made to make others laugh and he blazes the show from BEGINNING TO END - NO FILLER JOKES!!! even the simplest things said by him, are 10 times as funny as they would be coming from someone else.... So - if U wanna gather around, w/some friends, have some drinks, chill and have a REAL GOOD time - A Night AIN'T a Nite without a Katt Williams Invite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Katt Williams: It's Pimpin' Pimpin' (2008) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Man Katt Williams was funny as always and made you think at the same time. But there is alway people out there who's going to hate. So all I'm going to do is laugh at the first reviewers post. I'm glad i didn't fall for it. Katt will explain it to you in this stand-up. The first reviewer just didn't get it. But i bet now you do! lol
He had me and my wife lol all night. And she is Vietnamese. His jokes where multi-tribal (explained everything so more then one person can relate to his jokes ) We are a big fan of Richard,Eddie,Red Fox,Robin Williams,Chappelle,George Carlin. So I'm glad I added katt to my collection. So just take some time out and watch it. You will enjoy. This is my own review. But if you already know his work you will be smiling at the end of it.
He was on point about being the star player. I dont know him personal but i know the next time he in concert i wont miss it.

Friday After Next (Infinifilm Edition) (2002) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Let's face it, the first one was the best. It came out of nowhere and became a decent hit which has grown into cult status in a very short amount of time. Chris Tucker and Ice Cube were perfectly matched and had a chemistry so palpable which made for a very enjoyable ride. Then, inexplicably Chris Tucker didn't appear in the sequel "Next Friday" (it was probably his choice not to return after the success of Rush Hour) and he was sorely missed. This second outing in the trilogy was boring beyond belief and, even though I had tried, I couldn't bring myself to like it.
Then, I had pretty much given up on the whole Friday thing until a friend of mine recommended that I rent this next installement. He told me he found it very funny and, not really knowing what to expect, I gave it a try. I must say my confidence was restored in the Friday potential and, even though this third act is not as great as it could have been, I found myself enjoying it quite a lot.

True, I am like most fans of Friday who all wish "Smokey" would come back. Chris Tucker made this role so memorable that everytime we get a new one, most of us secretly hope he'll be around. Well, no luck here either even though Mike Epps is doing quite a good job and is very funny in this. John Witherspoon as the father is always hilarious to watch and I found myself captivated by the pimp character, dressed in flamboyant costumes with an attitude to match. He was probably the best new character in the film in my opinion along with the new big tug around the block involved in a delicious storyline with homoerotic overtones.
My one regret about the Friday movies is the fact that Ice Cube doesn't give us the whole family anymore. What made the first one so enjoyable was the fact that they were all part of the scheme of things but now, we never get to see Craig's sister and his mother is only featured in a small thankless role. Frankly, she deserves much better.
There are some very nice gags and I laughed out loud at many of them. I must say I don't really care much for the infinifilm gimmick where you see the film as different options to watch the behind the scenes stuff became available all throughout. I either want to watch the movie without interruption or watch the special features and mixing the two is not my idea of fun. But maybe that's just me.
In conclusion, this third one is a good effort. It also made me hopeful that the fourth one (I am pretty sure there will be one according to what the actors said in the documentaries) will be even better, if we can finally have the chance to see every member of the family have a bigger part in the story. Good comedy worth a shot!
