106. Going To California

Donna has had enough of the Golden State. She misses Eric, who, although she doesn't know it, is headed West - despite his parents' objections - to declare his love and bring her home. Kelso, however, has decided he has found the woman of his dreams in Annette, who is beautiful and believes in him. Back in Wisconsin, Jackie is a changed woman, thanks to a change in boyfriends.
107. I Can't Quit You Baby (a.k.a. Jackie and Hyde Get Busted)

As punishment for Donna going away to California, Bob transfers her to a Catholic School, which means that Donna won't get to see Eric as much. Eric is determined to fight for their right to be together, until he sees Donna in her new school uniform. Jackie and Hyde get caught making out in the basement; Eric and Donna try to convince them to tell Kelso what's going on.
108. What Is and What Should Never Be (Part 1 of 2) (a.k.a. Kitty's Pregnant)

Kitty joyfully announces that she's pregnant, but the reaction that she gets from Red leaves a lot to be desired. Eric and Donna continue their campaign to get Jackie and Hyde to tell the truth about their relationship to Kelso. A trip to the DMV seems to present the perfect opportunity, but Fez is the one who seizes the day rather than Hyde.
109. Heartbreaker (Part 2 of 2) (a.k.a. Kitty's Parents Come to Visit) 10/29/2002
Kitty's parents arrive from Arizona, after being told that Kitty has some wonderful news to share with them. Kitty's news isn't what she thought it would be, and throws a damper on the high spirits. Donna learns a thing or two from Bea about getting people to do things, while Eric and Red learn a thing or two from the World Book about "lady problems." Kelso works out his feelings about Jackie and Hyde's relationship.
110. Ramble On (a.k.a. Promise Ring Redux)

In a romantic moment, Donna presents Eric with a ring, much like the promise ring that he gave her, and caused their break up. For Donna, the ring symbolizes their enduring love and committment; for Eric, it symbolizes ugliness. To protect Donna's feelings, he decides not to say anything, but the secret gains a life of its own. Kitty is determined not to let menopause affect her life, but has a hard time living up to her committment.111. Over the Hills and Far Away

The kids prepare to make a weekend college visit to the University of Wisconsin. There's only one snag in the plan: Donna tells Eric that Bob will not let her go to UW. Instead he wants her to visit Marquette, a small Catholic college. So Donna and Jackie visit Marquette, where Jackie spends her time worrying about Hyde; the guys go to UW with Red and a very irritable Kitty.
112. Hot Dog (a.k.a. The Gifts)

When Eric decides to buy Donna a meaningful gift, he ends up getting her an engagement ring. But after discussing it with the guys, he realizes they are too young and the ring was a bad idea. Unfortunately, Eric already told Donna he got her a surprise and on their special evening out, he's put on the spot and forced to make the biggest decision of his life. Meanwhile, in an attempt to lift menopausal Kitty's spirits, Red gets her a dog: Schotzy.

Eric hides the fact that he's failing math from Red because he wants to prove that he's starting to get serious about his future. Red is so impressed by his son's apparent maturity that he bumps Laurie from the adults' table at Thanksgiving and gives her seat to Eric. This makes Eric think that the time may finally be right to announce to his engagement to Donna. However, the woman that Kelso brings as his date to the Formans' dinner complicates this decision.
114. Black Dog (a.k.a. Ow, My Eye)

When Jackie's father is arrested for bribery, Kelso thinks she'll come running back to him. But when Hyde and Kelso get into a brawl over Jackie, Kelso accidentally shoots Hyde with a BB gun and all hell breaks lose. Donna and Eric argue over how Hyde should deal with Jackie's pain. Meanwhile, Fez realizes he has a crush on his boss at the DMV.
115. The Crunge (a.k.a. The S.A.T.s)

The S.A.T. scores have come in and everyone does significantly better than Eric. He's particularly upset by Donna's high score and blames her for distracting him during the exam. As a result, Eric enlists Red to help him buckle down and stay away from Donna until he retakes the test. Meanwhile, Kelso discovers that he may have a bright future and Jackie pushes Hyde towards a college career.
116. The Girl I Love

When Fez decides to introduce his new girlfriend, Nina, to the gang, Kitty offers to throw a dinner party for the event. The guys resent being dragged to a dinner party, while the girls are excited at the thought of a grown-up night.
117. Misty Mountain Hop (a.k.a. Jackie's Cabin)

Jackie recruits the Formans to help clean out her family's mountain cabin, but decides it best not to ask for Hyde's assistance, instead telling him she is attending a doll expo. With Jackie going away, Hyde seizes the opportunity to use Jackie's cabin and invites Kelso and Fez. Donna and Eric get lost on the way to the cabin and spend the trip fighting. Hyde's plan goes wrong when Kelso gets his hand, holding his stash, stuck in a vase just as Jackie and the Formans arrive.
118. Your Time Is Gonna Come (a.k.a. Get Off My Boyfriend) 1/29/2003
Annette, Kelso's girlfriend from California, comes to Point Place to visit him. The entire gang is shocked to learn how closely her personality resembles Jackie's, while Jackie tries to conceal her jealousy from Hyde. Meanwhile, Kitty's parents show up unexpectedly and announce that they'll be moving in for a while. This unpleasant situation gets far worse when Eric finds his grandfather collapsed in the driveway.
119. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (a.k.a. Valentine's Day)

Hyde's depressed that Jackie still seems to have feelings for Michael. Annette's not happy either, because Kelso seems to still be attached to Jackie. And Kitty takes to her bed, because she feels her mother doesn't love her.

When Bob goes out of town, Eric and Donna decide to "practice" being married at her house. The gang is excited because they think this is a chance to party all weekend at the Pinciotti's place, until Eric and Donna are forced to set them straight. Meanwhile, Kitty goes to the jewelers to pick up a ring she thinks Red got her as a surprise. But she discovers the real surprise: it's actually an engagement ring for Donna.
121. Whole Lotta Love (a.k.a. The Silent Treatment)

Red is angry that Donna and Eric are engaged, so he gives Eric the silent treatment, leaving it up to Donna to try to talk to him. Fez finally does it with Nina; he's happy that he finally did it, but afterwards, things aren't so great. Kelso gives Jackie a birthday present, but insists that he's not trying to do anything; Hyde didn't even know it was her birthday.
122. The Battle of Evermore (a.k.a. Pioneer Days)

Things are still bad between Red and Eric, so Kitty signs them up for the Point Place Paul Bunyan Pioneer Days Jamboree. The estranged men must work together in order to beat Charlie and Mitch, an obnoxious father/son team who have won the past two years. Meanwhile, Hyde doesn't understand why Leo hasn't called him back to work in a while. He takes the gang to the Foto Hut only to find the place has been completely cleaned out.
123. Hey Hey What Can I Do (a.k.a. Job Fair)

Everyone has their own reasons for going to the job fair. Eric needs a full-time job now that Red refuses to pay for college. The Photo Hut is closed, so Hyde's looking for work too. Fez wants to make out with Nina at the DMV booth while "Hot Donna" will be signing autographs at the radio station's booth. And after failing to flirt his way out of a parking ticket, Kelso fears that his good looks will fade and that he'll need a practical job like other 'uggos'.
124. Bring It On Home (a.k.a. Jackie's in the House)

The Formans discover that Jackie has been sleeping in Hyde's room since neither of her parents are home. The best solution that everyone can come up with is for Jackie to move in with Bob and Donna, but unforunately Jackie doesn't appreciate everyone's pity. Meanwhile, Red gives Eric a hard time when he finds out that his son sleeps nude. And Fez has dinner at Nina's house, where he learns that her parents don't want her dating her "third world friend".
125. No Quarter (a.k.a. Jackie Moves In)

The Pinciottis learn very quickly that living with Jackie is going to be difficult. Kelso swipes Jackie's panties to taunt Hyde, who has his revenge when Kelso gets a job at the hotel kitchen where Hyde works. Eric receives notice that he must return Donna's engagement ring if he can't make a payment by Friday. His visits to the jewelry store reveal that there's bad blood between Fez and Fenton, the jewelry guy.

The Incredible Hulk - The Complete Third Season Review

(More customer reviews)The Third Season of The Incredible Hulk in many ways betters Seasons One and Two. The stories here are overall more exciting than in the Second Season and there are fewer lulls. You also get more insight into David Banner and (very pleasingly) Jack McGee. But there's one thing I did miss here; Two-parters. Season Two had the knockout episodes "Married" and
"Mystery Man" which were stretched to feature length. Here the episode "Homecoming" could easily have been a two-parter. David finds his way back home and makes up with his sister and father, whom he had always blamed for the death of his mother. It's a great episode which only fault is that it's too short.
Some great highlights here include "The Snare" and "The Psychic" which are two outstanding episodes. "The Snare" lifts it's plot from the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" which has been filmed several times. A recluse hunter on a remote island invites David to spend the night and before you know it David is fighting for his life for the hunter has become bored with hunting animals. "The Psychic" is very emotional with some incredibly sad overtones. Bixby's former wife Brenda Benet plays the psychic, who can see what David becomes and she also forsees Jack McGee's imminent death. Those who know something about Bixby's life will know that Benet committed suicide excactly one year after the death of their son Christopher. "The Psychic" aired shortly after Benet and Bixby had gone through a tough divorce. Both give exceptional performances here.
Some episodes which are considered lulls I actually found very entertaining. "Blind Rage" was a thrilling episode where David becomes blind, "The Slam" was an entertaining episode where David gets arrested and sent to a work camp. That episode also stars Robert Davi and Charles Napier. Softer episodes such as "Long Road Home" and "Falling Angels", which are considered not good, well I found them very entertaining.
"Broken Image", "Death Mask" and "Equinox" are also outstanding episodes. "Broken Image" is the one where Banner and McGee meet face to face, "Death Mask" is where Banner is suspected of multiple murders and "Equinox" is the one where McGee corners Banner in a costume party. They're all great. It's also great to see a whole episode devoted entirely to Jack McGee in "Proof Positive" and the late Jack Colvin excels there, as always.
The guest stars in the Third Season are much better than in the previous two seasons. There's much more consistency in the acting department here with supporting actors and that's one of the things that particularly plagued the Second Season. Bradford Dillman was a great villain in "The Snare", Paul Koslo is especially appealing in "The Long Road Home", Robert Hogan is marvellous as the scam artist in the mediocre episode "The Lottery", Brenda Benet is superb in "The Psychic", Gerald McRaney is very good and creepy in "Death Mask", Marc Alaimo showed some strong acting in "Nine Hours" and John Marley was fantastic is Banner's father in "Homecoming". An episode always goes down better with good performances from it's guest stars and there's no shortage of that here.
Not many episodes were dull but if I had to name someone I'd go with "Babalao" and "Sideshow". Those were below average.
Overall, this is a strong season of The Incredible Hulk. Bill Bixby doesn't falter once as David Banner, Jack Colvin is excellent as Jack McGee and Lou Ferrigno is up to the task again.

That '70s Show - Season 4 (1998) Review

This would also be the last season in which they use regular titles for the show since starting with season 5, The episode titles would be used as '70s songs with titles from rock groups.
1.) It's a Wonderful Life 9/25/01
Eric is distraught after his break-up with Donna and wishes that they never kissed in the first place. As soon as he utters this wish, a guardian angel appears to teach Eric that it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. The angel takes Eric on a journey to the future -- the '80s -- to show him how everyone's lives would've turned out if he and Donna never got together. Eric remains unconvinced that the pain of his break-up was worth it, until the angel shows him all the wonderful memories he would have never had.
2.) Eric's Depression 9/26/01
Four days after the big break-up, Eric locks himself in his room ignoring Red and Kitty's pleas for him to come out and talk about it. Meanwhile, the gang goes to Funland without Eric, and Kelso gets lost.
3.) Pinciotti vs. Forman 10/2/01
Eric kicks Donna out of the basement when she tries to hang out with their friends. Jackie inspires Donna to compete with Eric over their friends. The competition threatens to tear the entire group apart. Meanwhile, Kitty is ecstatic when she learns that Red has become friends with Pastor Dave.
4.) Hyde Gets the Girl 10/9/01
Eric and Fez decide Hyde needs a girlfriend so they throw a party and invite lots of pretty girls, and Hyde isn't the only one to meet someone he likes; Eric finds a new way to deal with his depression over losing Donna; Kelso and Bob compete to win a van in a radio station contest.
5.) Bye-Bye Basement 10/16/01
After Hyde moves back in with the Formans, Kitty decides to redecorate the basement so she hires Leo and his cousin Theo to do the job. Meanwhile, Donna and Eric engage in post-break-up bickering, while Fez takes up ballet to meet girls only to discover that they consider him one of the girls.(Guest Star Family Feud and Home Improvement's Richard Karn!)
6.) The Relapse (Part 1 of 2) 11/6/01
Bob is in denial after Midge leaves. Donna seeks comfort in the arms of Eric, who thinks this means they're back together. Kelso and Fez go to the supermarket to try and pick up older women.
7.) Uncomfortable Ball Stuff (Part 2 of 2) 11/13/01
Donna keeps her promise to accompany Eric to the Pricemart Ball as a friend, but she gets jealous when she sees Eric with another girl. Fez gets a job at the Foto Hut but gets fired for being too efficient and making Hyde and Leo look bad, even though they're the only other two who work there and Leo is the boss. Bob meets a woman at the supermarket.
8.) Donna's Story 11/20/01
Eric is upset when Donna writes a story in the school newspaper that sounds exactly like events that happened in their relationship; he decides to write his own story. Red and Kitty have dinner with Bob and his new girlfriend. Red doesn't like her because she's taught Bob how to stand up for himself. Kelso invests in a pinball machine but looses out when Fez persuades the owner to get rid of it and bring in Space Invaders instead.
9.) The Forgotten Son 11/21/01
Red has to produce a new Pricemart instructional film, and his choice of actor for the part of "Stockboy" leaves Eric stunned. Kitty and Donna become friends, spending time together, and Leo takes Hyde and Fez on a shopping spree after inheriting money from his Uncle.
10.) Red and Stacey 11/27/01
Red thinks Pricemart checkout girl Stacey is perfect for his lovelorn son. The girl impresses Red when she justifies her dubious customer relations with a phrase dear to his heart. Red encourages Eric to ask her out and he even offers to assist. But when Red talks to Stacey, she says she's interested in someone else. Meanwhile, Jackie and Donna give Big Rhonda a makeover for her first date with Fez.
11.) The Third Wheel 12/11/01
When the guys go bowling for boy's night, Hyde throws a wrench in the plan when his "friend" Jill shows up. Kelso and Fez decide to hunt down their own ladies and leave Eric to feel like the third wheel. Meanwhile, Donna is uncomfortable when she discovers Bob's new girlfriend is spending the night. When Red unintentionally inspires Pastor Dave to give up the cloth, he gets into trouble with Kitty and must find a way to steer Dave back to the light.
12.) An Eric Forman Christmas 12/18/01
Eric thinks that Christmas just isn't as fun as it used to be when he was a kid, so Kitty suggests that he direct the church Christmas pageant. He has some artistic differences with the gang over how things should go. Kelso is upset that everyone is making fun of him for wanting to watch Christmas specials on television; and Red is upset over Bob's Christmas decorations.
13.) Jackie Says Cheese 1/8/02
Eric catches Red looking through his dresser drawers for a condom and thinks that Red has found Hyde's stash. Jackie gets a job as a cheese maiden and Fez is jealous of the new foreign guy.
14.) Eric's Hot Cousin 1/22/02
Eric' cousin Penny, whom he used to tease unmercifully when they were younger, comes for a visit, and she's...grown some. All the guys are infatuated with her, much to Donna and Jackie's dismay. Jackie and Donna try to be hotter than Penny, with disasterous results. Kitty, feeling like she's not needed, wants to get a pet.
15.) Tornado Prom 2/5/02
A tornado is on its way to Point Place and Red and Kitty are stuck in their basement with Bob and Joanne; Eric is stuck with Donna at the radio station; the rest of the gang is stuck at the school during a dance. Kelso is named the Snow King and Jackie can't believe she's only the Snow Queen runner-up.
16.) Donna Dates a Kelso 2/5/02
Eric and Donna both start dating other people; Jackie sets Donna up with Kelso's older brother Casey, while Eric has his pick of the girls at school after being named Point Place High's most eligible bachelor. Fez thinks that he's finally going to lose his virginity, and looks for a place that he and Rhonda can use for that purpose. Bob becomes rich again and Red buys a Corvette.
17.) Kelso's Career 2/12/02
Eric doesn't know what to do when Red says 'I love you', so he decides to say it back, but learns that Red was drugged when he said it. Fez buys Rhonda a box of candies for Valentine's day, then can't help but eat them all. Jackie tells Kelso to get a job so he can buy her something nice for Valentine's day, and he finds a career that suits his interests and hobbies at the same time.
18.) Leo Loves Kitty 2/18/02
Hyde tries to teach Fez to drive but Fez damages the car and hurts Leo, who was taking a nap behind the car. While in the hospital Leo falls in love with Kitty and starts showing up at the Formans bearing gifts for her. Kelso becomes a department store model and Jackie is jealous because it's her dream to be a model. She confronts him and demands that he doesn't do it but he stands up to her and does it anyways.
19.) Jackie's Cheese Squeeze 2/26/02
Eric catches Jackie kissing Todd, her boss, but instead of telling Kelso, he holds it over her head. Jackie decides to tell Kelso about it herself, as well as telling him that Eric knew all about it. Both of their plans backfire on them. Kitty feels neglected and worries about becoming a Corvette-widow when Red spends all his time with his new car.
20.) Class Picture 3/19/02
While trying to come up with a quote for the yearbook, the gang recalls how they met for the first time. They go through the times when they each met each other, no matter how embarrassing or stupid they were. They also try to work out a saying to put under each of their pictures. Kelso finally comes up with the perfect quote for them all, "It's been a long, strange journey...in Forman's basement!" The gang also realizes how strong their friendship is.
21.) Prank Day 3/26/02
It's Prank Day according to Kelso, who manages to trick his friends twice with his stunts. The guys' attempt to retaliate backfires horribly when Red triggers their prank instead. But rather than venting his wrath on Eric, Red joins the prank war to show the boys how it's done. Meanwhile, Jackie throws an impromptu slumber party to cheer Donna up on her parents' wedding anniversary.
22.) Eric's Corvette Caper 4/9/02
When Red and Kitty go out of town, Eric takes the Corvette out and lets his date drive. She manages to get it all dirty and Eric scrambles to get it clean in time because his parents are coming home early. Jackie and Donna snoop around in Casey Kelso's room while he's away, and discover that Michael likes to hang out there.
23.) Hyde's Birthday 4/23/02
Kitty plans a surprise birthday party for Hyde's 18th birthday. She recruits Jackie and Fez as decorators because of their feminine creativity (much to Donna's annoyance). Eric, Donna, and Kelso decide to steal a street sign for Hyde's present. But Hyde doesn't want to celebrate because he thinks this means he'll have to move out of the Formans' house.
24.) That '70s Musical 4/30/02 (100th episode!)
Fez fantasizes about several musical numbers featuring himself and the rest of the gang while he gets ready for a school concert.
25.) Eric's False Alarm 5/7/02
When Eric finds out that Casey is taking Donna to a motel, he decides to show up to make sure she doesn't do anything she'll regret. Bob's divorce from Midge comes through, he mentions marriage to Joanne, who totally freaks out. Naturally, Red and Kitty...Read more›

The Incredible Hulk - Original Television Premiere (1978) Review

(More customer reviews)The Incredible Hulk film that comes out this summer has one thing that differentiates it from the other Marvel Comics film adaptations - the t.v. series that came before it is actually quality enough to give the film a run for it's money. The show never stooped to the campiness of shows like Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, and the original Superman t.v. show which catered to only children. This show had sophisticated stories that dealt with the inner struggle of a man trying to control his metamorphosis into a dangerous creature. Bill Bixby's acting was always excellent and made an unbelievable concept completely believable. I am glad to see the pilot finally coming out on DVD with the Married episode, which is a very emotional episode and proves that this was far more than just a kid's show. This t.v series definitely deserves to be released on DVD on a season by season basis. I can't wait till June!

That '70s Show - Season 8 Review

(More customer reviews)Yeah I said it. Season 8 sucked. It wasn't a really season at all. It was just something the writers scrapped together to get by and it wasn't good at all. First of all Randy? What the heck? What was the point of him except to be a hole filler for Eric. And he didn't even do a good job. He was horrible and just a big slut. Donna deserved something better. Okay second of all Jackie and Fez? Okay yes go through the whole entire series and you can see some scenes where you wonder if they'll end up together but to actually have it happen? It was horrible. I mean yes the things they did to each other before they got together to get back at each other was hilarious I'll give the writers that much but the rest of it after they actually got there....I couldn't watch it. It wasn't right. But the worst thing of all...the stripper. Okay why did Hyde have to go marry the stripper? I mean i loved Jackie and Hyde together and personally i think they were just as perfect for each other as Donna and Eric. But to have him go off and marry a stripper just wasn't right. They were making him too much like Bud when they'd already worked so hard to prove that he wasn't anything like him. So it was just a let down to see that all just disappear. That all the hard work Hyde put into proving he was a good man went poof the second that blonde bimbo walked in the room. I don't know maybe someone else has a different opinion of this and hates what I'm saying but i think this season could have been so much better. Lets hope that in the future there's like a reunion special and they rectify what they have done and make their loyal fans happy. Let's just hope.

They also did work on "The Outer Limits" for those that remember that sci-fi show. These legends were called upon once again to work in this landmark television series for kids that was a part of Saturday morning programs meant to stimulate the imagination and entertain. There were also quality writers gathered from Science fiction to write some of the plots that you will see here in this first season of shows. In describing the show it is much like a children's version of a Doctor Who adventure. Short on budget but excellent in imaginative designs and well written plots. So, like Doctor Who, you have to ignore the low budget stage pieces and let your imagination along with the dialog rule how you will judge it. The most interesting and innovative idea are a race of "silurians" known as "The Sleestak". One intelligent version of the Sleestak controls travel through time and we see experiments using "crystals" (ala' George Pal) as a means of power to alter the time universe. As the series progressed the plots became thicker and if you are a fan willing to look beyond the constraints of the program you will find it fascinating. Well recommended for kids and older "kids" too!

Such was the case when hottie JoAnna Cameron donned her ancient Egyptian amulet and chanted toward the sky "Oh zephyr winds which blow high, lift me now so I can fly," and I was awakened to such childhood wonders! Isis was a generational inspiration in the pantheon of heroic 70's television babes that included Linda Carter's Wonder Woman, Lindsay Wagner as the Bionic Woman, Charlie's Angels and Erin Gray's Wilma from Buck Rogers.
As science teacher Andrea Thomas, she had found the ancient amulet of Hatshepsut during an archeological dig which endowed upon her the powers of the ancient Egyptian goddess with the gifts of flight, speed, strength and telekinesis which were summoned when she intoned the sacred chants and using her powers selflessly to help those in need. Her secret identity was concealed even from her closest friends Rick Mason, Renee Carol and Cindy Lee, but known only to her faithful feathered companion, a black crow named Tut.
The Secrets of Isis began as part of the Shazam!/Isis hour on CBS in 1975 consisting of 15 episodes and spun-off into her own series the following year but lasted only 7 episodes. Isis would also crossover and appear in 3 episodes of Shazam! and later she appeared in animation form as a character of the Freedom Force on Tarzan and the Super 7.

(More customer reviews)Growing up as a child in the 1970's I remember watching THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY every Sunday evening at 7pm. I of course enjoyed the cartoons but also enjoyed the many live action Dinsey movies such as THE SHAGGY DOG, THE SHAGGY D.A., POLLYANNA, THE WHIZ KIDS movies and of course the WITCH MOUNTAIN movies. I remember looking forward to ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN and would make it a point to never miss this movie when it aired.
The story is about a brother and sister, Tony & Tia, who along with their alien family tried to migrate to Earth but crashed upon arriving. Tony and Tia then try to locate their family with the assistance of a widower while trying to avoid a rich villan who wants to use the kids Extra Sensory Powers (ESP) to further his greedy goals. As a child I actually found this movie to be very scary. I actually feared for Tony and Tia. Now as an adult it has lost the scary aspect. That comes with age I guess. It is still a good watch though.
I have wanted to purchase this film for years so my children could watch it. Now that they are pre-teens and begining to lose their childhood innocence I was finally able to purchase this new DVD. As I suspected they were reluctant to watch this movie and the sequel RETURN FROM WITCH MOUNTAIN. I finally got them to watch the films and they did enjoy the them but obviously it did not have the same effect on them as it did me. However younger children, especially those who have not been spoiled by CGI special effects will no doubt still enjoy the films. I tried to explain to my children that as a grade schooler I had a huge crush on Kim Richards (Tia). I got teased for that and of course when I teased my boy about his attraction to Hillary Duff that was a different matter. Go figure.
The DVD has some nice special features. Interviews, cartoons and other such material. I don't have enough positive things to say about Disney's old movies being offered through their Vault Disney line of products.

This first release of That 70s show on DVD contains all of the episodes of its first season. All 25 episodes are contained on 4 disks. It is full frame and list at 575 minutes.

4) Battle of the Sexists - Eric feels less that a man when he loses a game of basketball to Donna.
5) Eric's Burger Job - Eric gets a job at Fatso burger.

Piranha (1978) Review

Lovers of B-movie madness would likely have a lot more time on their hands to read books, interact with family, or take part in generally otherwise fulfilling life experiences had old Rog chosen a different career path. Fortunately, or unfortunately as the case may be, Corman sat out in Hollywood for three or four decades making low budget exploitation films. He also tried to cash in on every movie fad in modern cinema. And I do mean EVERY fad. You see, Roger had a dream to take an idea and make a profitable picture out of it that would entertain the masses. The problem was that someone else invariably had the idea first. Thus Lucas's "Star Wars" allowed Corman to unleash "Battle Beyond the Stars" on an unsuspecting public. Car chase movies saw Roger replying with "Grand Theft Auto" and "Eat My Dust." I could go on and on. There wasn't anything Corman couldn't do with someone else's idea. Perhaps the best example is "Piranha," a 1978 ripoff of Spielberg's "Jaws." This film made our man a lot of money, which allowed him to make even more spectacular ripoffs for years to come.
The flick starts with a couple of kids breaking into some sort of rundown fish hatchery for an evening swim. Something in the water kills them. End of movie. Seriously, something rather nasty does do away with the two idiots. We then see an insurance investigator by the name of Maggie McKeown (Heather Menzies on loan from Julie Andrews) heading out to discover what happened to these two dolts. She rather quickly hooks up with an embittered alcoholic with a penchant for flannel named Paul Grogan (Bradford Dillman channeling Grizzly Adams) who lives in a cabin down by the river. Somehow or other Maggie convinces Paul to head over to the fish hatchery with her. Sure enough they discover that something sinister has been going on there under the aegis of Dr. Robert Hoak (Kevin McCarthy). How do we know this? Because there's lots of nasty looking scientific stuff lying around all over the place. Anyway, Hoak eventually lets our two heroes in on a little secret: the government paid him a bunch of money to create a breed of piranha as part of some weapons program. Personally, I'm for anything that keeps communists out of our swimming pools, lakes, and rivers.
While all this nonsense goes on we know the piranha have escaped from the hatchery (thanks Maggie and Paul!) and are preparing a full-scale assault on the human race. A few locals fall prey first, but the real threat is the summer camp and an aquatic park downriver. Just to ratchet up the emotional element of the film a bit, we also learn that Paul's daughter is currently attending the camp. Oh dear! It's a race against time as Paul and Maggie set out with the twitchy Dr. Hoak in tow to stop the madness. As for the folks at the camp and the park, they haven't a clue as to what's about to happen. The only concern at the camp is the fascistic machinations of Mr. Dumont (Paul Bartel), a guy who takes great joy in ordering kids into the water and snooping on the foxy female counselors. At the water park, the owner plans on making a bundle on opening day and couldn't care less if a battleship full of exposed nuclear waste sailed into harbor. You can pretty much guess what happens in the last part of the film. Screaming, blood in the water, and a lot of out of shape Americans in unflattering bathing suits thrashing around on the beach in agonies. Fun!
I don't know whether to laugh or cry with this one, folks. Lots of people adore this film, and I probably would to if I'd seen it as a wee lad. I didn't, and I'm not that impressed. The swarms of piranha zipping through the water look so like the pieces of plastic they are that it's tough not to snicker. It's even worse when we see them up close chattering away on an exposed leg or belly. We're definitely looking at cheesefest central on a buck and a half budget here. At the same time, I did find a lot to like about the film. Seeing veteran horror babe Barbara Steele popping up from time to time as a government scientist named Dr. Mengers was a nice surprise, although she's largely wasted in the role. Kevin McCarthy plays frazzled well, and the script requires him to morph into a sniveling wimp for most of his screen time. Heck, we even see Richard Deacon (Mel from "The Dick Van Dyke Show") in a small role as Maggie's boss. Can't beat that. The talent behind the camera is moderately impressive too considering the budget. Joe Dante directed this flick, and John Sayles wrote the script. Both men went on to greater success, Dante with "Gremlins" and Sayles with "Eight Men Out," "The Howling," and several other mainstream movies.
Extras on the disc include a commentary track, extra footage, bloopers, and a few other odds and ends. Corman apparently took this film, or at least a similar concept, to television in the mid-1990s. If so, I haven't seen that version and thus cannot make a comparison. If the remake, or retread, or whatever it is looks and sounds like this movie, more laughs await us. Corman continues to churn out pap at an alarming rate, and has even recently inked a deal with Disney that will release his entire catalogue on DVD and keep it in circulation until the sun burns out. I've dogged on Corman quite a bit, but I do appreciate his films. If nothing else they are entertaining, and this one definitely works most of the time.

(More customer reviews)This is beyond ridiculous at this point. Millions of fans have anxiously awaited the release of these DVDs. What is the hold up?! Is Sony not planning on releasing the rest of the series?! Why release 6 seasons and stop there? Is Sony prepared to refund customers who paid good money for half of a series? I know that I did not start collecting these DVDs just to be left with an incomplete set. There isn't even any talk about a future release date, no news at all. What IS the problem? I think this is a digrace and I'm pretty much done with Sony. Customer satisfaction is obviously not a priority.

Well, now it's on DVD with the original French track and subtitles in English, and it's just as great as i've been remembering it from the last chance i had to see it theatrically.
The video transfer looks excellent, the sound is good, and the film is the film.
And there are goodies galore on the DVD as well; i haven't finished all of them yet.
If you haven't seen this film, now is the time to do so.

Classic Albums: John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band (2008) Review

(Paul Simon's 'Graceland', Bob Marley's 'Catch a Fire', Fleetwood
Mac's 'Rumours', to name but a few of the previous releases) through
interviews with participants and associates and the playing of master
tapes (more on that later). This new 52' feature documents the making
of John Lennon's first 'proper' (i.e. accessible to the public at
large) studio album, 'John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band', recorded in the
fall of 1970 and released in December of that year.
Although light on the rare video side of things - there appears to be
no available footage of the sessions, so the producers have collected
little-seen (but previously circulating) clips of John attending the
Alexandra Palace psychedelic event in London (29 April 1967) and
sequences from the BBC '24 Hour' documentary (shown on 15 December
1969) -, the real treat for Beatles videos collectors are
previously-unseen excerpts of John and Yoko's appearance on
'Parkinson' (17 July 1971) which, to my knowledge, haven't been seen
since the original transmission. Other clips from that show have been
included in various programmes over the years, notably 'Imagine'
(1972) and 'Imagine, John Lennon' (1988) but the ones on this DVD are
different.
We also get new interviews with people involved in the making of the
album (Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr, Klaus Vormann, engineers Phil McDonald
and John Leckie), music critics (Jann Wenner, who interviewed Lennon
at length in December 1970 for 'Rolling Stone,' and Richard Williams),
the man responsible for inspiring the album (Dr. Arthur Janov,
proponent of the primal scream theory, whose seminar John and Yoko had
attended in the summer of 1970), Beatle historian Mark Lewisohn
(author of the superb 'The Beatles' Recording Sessions' and 'The
Complete Beatles Chronicles'), as well as Elliot Mintz, who was not
involved with the album at all. My impression is that the latter's
inclusion is due to the fact that he appears to be groomed, as Yoko's
PR man, to take over as guardian of John's legacy the day she passes
away. Here's someone else who'll be ready on day one...
But the main drawing point of this DVD, and what makes it in my
opinion an essential addition to any Lennon fan's collection, is the
playing of the original multitrack tapes at Abbey Road by the
engineers who worked on the album. As they isolate various tracks, we
get to hear John's spine-chilling voice on its own or the various
instruments on the - very spare - backing tracks (which usually
consisted simply of John on guitar or piano, Ringo on drums and Klaus
on bass).
We also get shots of various EMI Tape boxes, indicating the precise
recording dates of various songs on the album. Up until now, the only
known session date for a particular song was 9 October 1970, John's
30th birthday, when he recorded 'Remember'. Here are the dates we now
have:
26 Sep 1970: 'Mother' (take 61 -- possibly an in-joke, as this was the
first day of recording), 'Working Class Hero' (takes 1-9)
27 Sep 1970: 'God' (takes 1-2 of an alternate, acoustic guitar-based
version), 'Well Well Well' (takes 3-4)
30 Sep 1970: 'Hold On' (takes 1-6)
7 Oct 1970: 'Look at Me' (take 1), 'God' (takes 1-8 of a remake, still
guitar-based)
9 Oct 1970: 'Remember' (takes 1-4)
17 Oct 1970: 'Mother' (possibly a vocal overdub session)
24 Oct 1970: 'Mother' (another possible vocal overdub session)
There is another session sheet, but the date is cropped out in the
documentary. On that unspecified date (probably late September), they
recorded 'Isolation' (takes 24-29) and 'Well Well Well' (takes 5-6 of
a remake).
In addition to the 52' documentary, there's 35' of bonus
footage. On many DVDs, this is filled with boring stuff
considered not good enough to be included in the main feature. Here,
though, it's simply more great isolation mixes, two clips from John's
1972 concert at Madison Square Garden ('Well Well Well' and 'Mother'),
and the 'holding up signs' version of 'Instant Karma!' (broadcast on
'Top of the Pops' on 19 February 1970) in pristine quality.

surprised by the musical contents of this DVD! *
The multitracks played are:
- a mostly complete 'Remember' (with some stop-and-starts and a recent
clip of Klaus playing the bass line at home) and an earlier (fun,
faster) take, which was partially released on 'John Lennon Anthology'
in 1998. This multitrack mixdown starts earlier, though.
- isolated tracks of 'Well Well Well', 'Working Class Hero', 'God'
(the released version and an alternate, acoustic guitar-based take),
'Mother', 'Isolation', 'Love.'

"John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band" was John Lennon's first solo studio album after the break up of The Beatles. Alice (Television Favorites Compilation) (1976) Review

(More customer reviews)I totally agree that this should be a season set instead of a Best Of. But I post at Sitcoms Online, where the voting for the episodes for the disc took place, and apparently Warner Bros. is unsure if season sets of Alice would sell well or not. So they decided to test the waters by releasing a TV Favorites collection with 6 episodes. If it meets their expectations, they will for certain release seaon sets, but if it doesn't sell well then there is basically no chance.
I understand it's absolutely ridiculous for us to have to buy a Best Of release in order to get season sets, but doing so for Alice would be worth it. That's why I encourage ALL Alice fans to please buy this DVD and not boycott it because it's only a Best of release. This DVD can make or break it's chance for season sets. We have to make this disc a success.

(More customer reviews)What's Happening!!(1976) is such an essential addition to the other classic 1970's sitcoms that have already been released on DVD. The show was created by Eric Monte, writer of shows such as All in the Family and co-creator/writer of Good Times. It also featured executive producer Bud Yorkin, already known for his work with Norman Lear on All in the Family and Sanford & Son. What's Happening!! ran for only three seasons (1976-1979) and had 65 episodes. The show was inspired by the 1975 film, Cooley High and centered around three high school friends: Raj (Ernest Thomas), Dwayne (Haywood Nelson), and Rerun (Fred Berry) (The nickname Rerun coming from his habit of having to repeat classes). The action usually bounces between Raj's house, where he lives with his mother and annoying little sister Dee, and the burger hang out that Shirley (Shirley Hemphill) runs. The show had plenty of hilarious moments and was very well written and watching Rerun dance is always a highlight! Collected on this awesome 3 DVD set is all 21 episodes of Season 1. The tri-fold case is one of the most colorful I've seen (inside and out). Each DVD has one of the main guys on the face. There isn't much in the way of extra features except for some trailers for similar releases and the much loved "play all episodes" feature! I'm not totally interested in extra features when it comes to sets like these because I feel it's special enough that these classic shows get the season set treatment they get! This set includes the following episodes:

*Out of the three main guys, Haywood Nelson was the only one to be of actual high school age (16) in real life. Ernest Thomas and Fred Berry were 26 & 25 respectively!
*After What's Happening!! ended in 1979, the "reruns" on TV in the 80s became so popular that a spin-off with the main cast, What's Happening Now!! (1985) was created. The show lasted for 3 seasons and like the original, centered around Raj, Dwayne, Rerun, Shirley, & Dee, only now in their adult lives. Also of note is comedian Martin Lawrence got his start on this show as a character named Maurice.

Bewitched - The Complete Seventh Season Review

(More customer reviews)Hey everyone the 28 episodes of Bewitched Season 7 is coming to us this February. This includes the Salem Saga episodes, everybody's favorite Christmas episode from Bewitched "Sisters at Heart", and "Sam's Old Man".
The Seventh Season begins with "To Go or Not to Go that is the Question". This is the Episode where Hepzibah demands that Sam come to the witches council which is held every one hundred years in Salem and finally in Part 2 Endora convinces Hepzibah to allow Darrin to go. The Salem Saga begins with the third episode of the 7th Season and continues for 6 episodes.
Also in the 7th season we see more of Esmeralda up to her fading magic and we see Sam's egotistical former boyfriend who turns himself into a dog. Two of the best episodes from Season 7 are "Samantha's Old Man" where Endora turns Darrin into a 73 year old man and the best Christmas episode Bewitched had during it's 8 year run "Sisters at Heart", and that dealt with racism. That episode was written by a tenth grade class at Thomas Jefferson High School in Los Angeles, California.
Other classic episodes are "Mother-in-Law of the Year" and the special effects in the episode are amazing. We see Samantha playing the tooth fairy in the 14th episode which includes two parts in "Mary the Good Fairy", which guest stars the all time hilarious Imaogene Coca. This season also is the last season to feature Uncle Arthur, and he makes his final appearance in "The House That Uncle Arthur Built". He leaves all his practical jokes at Sam and Darrin's to impress his new girlfriend, but soon realizes if she doesn't love him for him she isn't worth it.
One of the wildest episodes from Season 7 is where Sam and Darrin and Larry and Louise all trade places. Dr. Bombay is called in to fix the problem. Other episodes include "Darrin Goes Ape", "Money Happy Returns", Sam's Psychic Pslip", and "Samantha's Magic Mirror". In the later episode she tries to boast Esmeralda's confidence by helping her with her former boyfriend so each time she looks in the mirror she sees a gorgeous woman.
The majority of people who are Bewitched fans say out of the Dick Sargent years, that Season 7 is their favorite season with him. It is also one of my favorite seasons too. The Salem trip and the Christmas episode are some of the best that the show offered in it's 8 season run. So Bewitched fans get ready for Season 7 on February 3, 2009.
Note: During the hiatus period of season 6 & season 7 a fire destroyed the set of kitchen, so William Asher producer of the show and Elizabeth's husband at that time decided to take the show to film many scenes in Salem. The entire cast and crew were there and I think that's why everyone is so anxious for this special season.

Gimme Some Truth - The Making of John Lennon's "Imagine" Review

(More customer reviews)As with almost every archival Beatles-related release, this is another product that tries to straddle the line of being for the collector and the casual fan both (leaving neither really happy with the end result). Once again they have erred on the favor of the casual fan, who will not be the one buying the majority of this release. Capitol/EMI never seem to learn from the great bootlegs how to compile really good releases.
If you have Imagine (the videos film), and Imagine (the documentary film), and Yoko Ono Then and Now, and the John Lennon videos collection, then you already have more of THIS video than you SHOULD have. The NEW stuff in this video is GREAT! Where is the rest of it? I could have gone for way more recording scenes, this hardly shows George playing, no King Curtis, no Badfinger. Just enough to tease us, then back to more recycled footage. Obviously these people filmed everything they did almost all the time, so why do we have to keep seeing the same scenes over and over again in each (NEW?) product. I am all for putting things in context, but the old stuff makes the basis for this dvd, not the new stuff. Just enough is left out of each product that you have to buy all of them, but once you have them it's pretty redundant. Of course the casual fan is not going to care because they will only see one of the versions, but for the rest of us this is getting really old. They also took the cheap way out and left in all the dust, hairs, scratches, and streaks in the video too, rather than cleaning it up like Yellow Sub. And, unlike Yellow Sub, the 5.1 soundtrack is not that big of a deal musically, and not that sonically different from the cd remaster.
The extra interview is nice, since they went out of their way to make that complete. I just wish as much thought would have gone into the main feature. Do you need this? Yes. If it's the only Lennon video you have, you'll probably be pretty happy, and it's much better than the videos version Imagine. If you have all the others, you still need this because there is just enough new to re-sell you the old again.
